When CDC on the Site is Mention Antigen/Antibody Test Blood Drawn from a Vein in LAB Should Before at 4 Weeks and Retest After 45 Days for Conclusive Results then Why your Giving Wrong Information of 12 weeks CDC Guidelines ?? Even though Consider Conclusive at 4 weeks in UK Also. for your info i have taken two DUO Tests one after Four week and Another at 8 weeks of Exposure . My exposure was Protected Sex with a Married Woman
In 2013, i did unprotected vaginal sex with a commercial sex worker.
After three months i got sick for 21 days it was all unexplained.
After 6 months, i got gastritis and still have it.
in Jan 2014 i got phyrengitis and still have it.
in 2015 i got facial parotid burning and still have it.
in Dec 2015 i got ear blockage problem and still have it
in 2016 my back got sensitive to air , its a burning kind of sensation and still have it and later in the same year i got chest pain issue and still have it, its one of my very bad symptoms which has disturbed my whole life.
in 2017 i used to get the cervical pain, when doctors did MRI, they showed something called up cervical lymphadenopathy and still have it..
i have had no other exposure after this incident other than my wife.
so all my issues i mentoined above phyrengitis, ear blockage, parotid heaviness and parotid burning, back burning, chest pain and cervical lymphadenopathy .. they all still persists and have disturbed the quality of my life.. specially my chest pain, cervical lymphadenopathy and parotid burning.
I did test for HIV via 4th gen Eclia test in 2013 - 3 months post exposure negative.
again HIV test via 4th gen Eclia test in 2013 - 8 month post exposure negative.
Tested 16 months in 2014 via Ehanced Chemlum - negative
Tested at somewhere in 2015 via Elisa - negative, my test range was 0.2453 , cutoff value 1.
in 2014 i got married and my wife has become so weak ever since after marrying me, she got the nails problem and After a year to our married she got measles and now she has got the kidney problem.
i have developed so many neurological problems now.. i swear i never used to go to the doctor or never got that much of sick and now whatever is problem is diagnosed, its becoming permanent ... doctors are unable to resolve. i never told my doctors about my HIV exposure to confuse them.
do i need any other test? to be honest i am so much afraid to go for the testing now..
Good evening everyone. First, let me start by appreciating what you do here, using your time and resources to serve humanity. May God continue to give you all the strength to do more. Thanks.
During a vaginal sex (which lasted for about 4 minutes) with a CSW in Nigeria on June, 20 2019, I had finished and pulled out only to discover that the condom I used had ruptured. The following day (21 June 2019) I went to a clinic and was given one month course of PEP which I started within 23hrs. During the time I was taking the medication I experienced fatigue on 3 different occasions, cluster headache and intermittent nausea. I finished the medication on 20 July 2019 and since then have experienced the following symptoms: cluster headache that cause me pain in my eyeballs, pain that moves around all my joints, pain in my groin, lower back pain, light painful sensation in my armpit and under my jaw, recurrent nausea. 9 days after the course of PEP I developed a very high fever that will come, go, and come back again putting me in a state of feeling extremely hot and then extremely cold again, night sweats, pain in my calf and behind my knees that extends towards my thighs, peripheral neuropathy that causes tingling and numbness in all my limbs, nasal congestion in one of my nostrils that gets worse at night, light sour throat for few days, pain in my eyes and ears, chest pains, body ache and cramps.
This is my test update. 9 weeks post finishing PEP and 13 weeks post exposure, 3rd generation Alere antibody test-negative, but I am still having joint ache that moves around all my joints starting from my ankle joints to my knees, to my elbow joints and waist, and fingers. The pain would come and go and come back in a few days. Occasional body aches, pain in my eyeballs, nasal congestion in one of my nostrils that gets worse at night, few pimple-like rashes on my shoulders that would appear and go away in a few days and come back again, occasional chest pains. I think the PEP failed me and I am seroconverting. Please what do you think? I have read stories of people that seroconverted 6 months after taking PEP. Do you think I am one of such persons?

I found a lot of (sometimes confusing) info concerning window periods. I know most specialists consider the 12 week mark as conclusive, however in some cases 6 months is mentioned. When should a person consider a test after 6 months?
Hi, I'm worried because I was masturbating with a man (no risk at all) but I tried to perform some oral sex to him, but after 2 or 3 seconds I realized it wasn't correct so I stopped, and now I'm scared because I washed my teeth like 1 hour before that, and also I had small sores as I'm using braces permanently. I couldn't see any wound or lots of pre-seminal liquid on his penis, but I'm scared because maybe I got infected if he was HIV positive, is there any risk in your opinion? Will a 4th gen test be reliable after 21 days? Thanks for your answer I'm really worried
I had unprotected virginal sex with a CSW. But i took pep for 28 days. I started PEP within 72hours. I had the following tests which came back negative.
HIV Duo at 14 weeks post pep.
Hiv rapid ingure prick abtibody test and hepatis A,B and C antigen and antibody test at 4months post PEP.
Hiv rapid fingure prick antibody test at 6 months 1 day post pep.
The problem is that i have been having persistent oral thrush. Am i negative or can i wait and do another hiv test to confirm my status?
Please your response will be highly appreciated
Good morning I read many answers in HIV HELP LINE however one of your volunteers has given inconsistent and erroneous answers that are consistent with the responses of the other volunteers. While everyone indicates that the window period is 12 weeks (84 days) Mr. Trevor indicates that they are 90 and he has answered many that if they have taken the test at 84 they should do it again after 90 days. He also replied that the elisa of 4 generation is not a duo test. So, the question is because someone from your volunteer community called "Trevor" responds differently to all the rest ????
I had unprotected sex with a sex worker.after 4 days I was placed on 30 days PEP (Yes, I know it is late). I completed the 30 days and 4 weeks post PEP (8.5 weeks post exposure) I had 2 Rapid finger prick tests. Both came back Negative.
1. I was wondering if PEP has any chance at working after 3 days ?
2. What are the chances of it interfering with an antibody test at 8 weeks post exposure ?
Thanks for your time
