Thanks in advance for replying and helping,
I had 3 times unprotected sex with the same person who is HIV positive. First time was hardly 2 seconds, 2nd time was 30 seconds or so and 3rd time for 15 mins approx, all on different days. When I first met her she told me that she has lost lot of weight with natural medicines. After our last meet I was terrified and things started to pop up in my mind that loosing weight could be because of HIV and the way she has sex with me looks she is a sex addict and must be doing the same with everyone out there. So I then secretly consulted other girls around the same place, who than informed me that she is mad about sex and people have reported she even drinks sperm and offers free sex to people who comes for massage, also got to know that she was very obese initially and had lost weight tremendously.
After being terrified with these news I went back to her this time with a condom, and went as if a regular sex meet. Before starting I told her about my anxiety since past few weeks and my worries, but she clearly refused to be HIV positive and saw a complete new side of her by the way she then talked and reacted as if I asked her what she's got. After that I returned home and couldn't get sleep in the night thinking about my wife, and also couldn't make any physical relationship with her. On the 19th day of last exposure without condom, I went ahead and took an early test of PCR RNA and p24 antibidy, but the lab said it will take 4-5 days for the result. So I went to another lab and tested myself with ELISA which looked like a pregnancy tester strip and the lab put my blood on it and said it is negative. I am now sure that preexposure with her I was not infected. But right now, as there is 3-4 days more to go for the results of PCR RNA and p24 test I am dying with guilt and anxiety. I am restless, I need help to find how are my chances against the odds. And what else would cause here severe weightloss? If HIV, then what stage would it have been? I am dying with questions.
PS: a lesson learned that will never ever do it without a condom, never ever.
HAS HIV EVER BEEN detected in the first40-42 days with a third generation elisa??? I had a test after 40 days..I had unprotected sex with a girl...I am a male..i tested negative after 40 days...has it ever been detected that soon?
On may 29 2016 i had a one time protected vaginal sex with prostiture(female) in india(hyderabad).
1. On 19th day i had a pcr rna test,result was negative.
2. on 32 day i had p24 antigen test for HIV(1&2) and after next day i had hiv1&2 antibody test, reuslt was negative.
3. On 46 day i had HIV1&2 Elisa test the reulst was negaive.
Now i am confident that,hiv-1 can be eliminated by above test reports
Now i am worrying about hiv-2,is there any chance still hiv-2 hidden in my body.
Hi, I had unprotected sex on April 2016 and 2 months after that I had a Miningitis, Tetanus and Diphtheria vaccination.
I want to know:
1. Do the vaccinations have affect on HIV test?
2. Which type of HIV test is more reliable?
3. When should I take the HIV test?
I would appreciate it if you answer me
you have persistently wrote " 21-25 days is when one can have detectable antibodies and up to 95% of infections can be detected in 4-6 weeks of infection" I swear i have almost perused through all your posts and i have not seen any one write that they have had their HIV infections detected in just 3-6 weeks on especially 3rd generation tests including the rapid tests. This leaves me in doubt that these tests can detect infections in just weeks,, so one has to actually wait until after 3 months or even more.
Hi Doctor (firstly sorry for my english) I have unprotected sex with female after 5 months ago, after 5 month i went to Government clinic and got HIV 1&2 Elisa test it"s result Negative. i want to know doctor HIV 1&2 Elisa test is good test ? And am i want to retest again ?I am too scared of this problem.please help me sir..
My name is Marius and I am 31 old.4 weeks ago I had vaginal sex and oral sex with a sexworker protected. I protected all the time. Only a week after I started having various symptoms . Now after 4 weeks I took the first test and the result are :
Anti - HIV 1+2-Ser / electrochemiluminiscenta (HIV combi)--------------Negative
RPR cantitativ --Ser / Metoda imunoturbidimetrica ----------------------Negative
Anticorpi Treponema pallidum - cantitativ ---Ser / ECLIA--TPLA-----------Negative
Even if the test came out negative after 4 weeks , I worry because I had a healed wound on his penis and think not to have taken any virus even if I protected.
I would be eternally grateful if you would tell how conclusive test is done only after 4 weeks.
Thank you very much
I'm a 28 male who lives in a low risk HIV area.
About a year ago I had a HIV test done (I needed it for surgery) and I was told that the test result was "inconclusive". I didn't know much about HIV and HIV testing at the time and obviously I was worried. After asking a lot of questions the doctor told me that the administered test (ELISA) was reactive to the HIV antibodies and that we needed to do more tests to confirm the result. We took 2 more blood samples and ran 2 more tests (Western Blot and PCR). Fortunately both tests came back negative (no bands present and no proviral DNA was detected) which resulted in a HIV negative status.
One week ago I had another ELISA done along with standard STD tests (STD tests came back negative). This time the result also came back as "reactive" and we had to take more blood samples for Western Blot and PCR (still waiting for the results).
During the year between the tests I only had sex (vaginal, some of it unprotected) with one woman who was my girlfriend at the time and who as far as I know is HIV negative. Our last sexual encounter was 2 months ago.
Is it unheard-of for someone to be "reactive" to 2 separate ELISA tests 2 year apart? If so, and my results comeback again negative (fingers crossed) then what are my options for future testing? As you may imagine this is very stressful for me and for if some reason ELISA is sensitive to my blood are there any other tests that can be used for routine screenings?
I had a 5 sexual activity. After 1 year I did HIV PCR test and ELISA antibodies result is negative. Is test reliable? And if ı have a superinfection was it released in test results? Some web sites says cant be detected antibodies. On web a patient with hiv 1 superinfection case. Sorry my bad english
