My name is Marius and I am 31 old.4 weeks ago I had vaginal sex and oral sex with a sexworker protected. I protected all the time. Only a week after I started having various symptoms . Now after 4 weeks I took the first test and the result are :
Anti - HIV 1+2-Ser / electrochemiluminiscenta (HIV combi)--------------Negative
RPR cantitativ --Ser / Metoda imunoturbidimetrica ----------------------Negative
Anticorpi Treponema pallidum - cantitativ ---Ser / ECLIA--TPLA-----------Negative
Even if the test came out negative after 4 weeks , I worry because I had a healed wound on his penis and think not to have taken any virus even if I protected.
I would be eternally grateful if you would tell how conclusive test is done only after 4 weeks.
Thank you very much
I'm a 28 male who lives in a low risk HIV area.
About a year ago I had a HIV test done (I needed it for surgery) and I was told that the test result was "inconclusive". I didn't know much about HIV and HIV testing at the time and obviously I was worried. After asking a lot of questions the doctor told me that the administered test (ELISA) was reactive to the HIV antibodies and that we needed to do more tests to confirm the result. We took 2 more blood samples and ran 2 more tests (Western Blot and PCR). Fortunately both tests came back negative (no bands present and no proviral DNA was detected) which resulted in a HIV negative status.
One week ago I had another ELISA done along with standard STD tests (STD tests came back negative). This time the result also came back as "reactive" and we had to take more blood samples for Western Blot and PCR (still waiting for the results).
During the year between the tests I only had sex (vaginal, some of it unprotected) with one woman who was my girlfriend at the time and who as far as I know is HIV negative. Our last sexual encounter was 2 months ago.
Is it unheard-of for someone to be "reactive" to 2 separate ELISA tests 2 year apart? If so, and my results comeback again negative (fingers crossed) then what are my options for future testing? As you may imagine this is very stressful for me and for if some reason ELISA is sensitive to my blood are there any other tests that can be used for routine screenings?
I had a 5 sexual activity. After 1 year I did HIV PCR test and ELISA antibodies result is negative. Is test reliable? And if ı have a superinfection was it released in test results? Some web sites says cant be detected antibodies. On web a patient with hiv 1 superinfection case. Sorry my bad english
I've had protected sex on 1st May 2016.
1.On the 21th day from exposure, i took the following tests-Hiv antibody/antigen,vdrl,Hepatitis B and C test.All negative.
2.On the 33rd day from exposure ,I've taken HIV 1proviral dna test and 4th generation HIV antibody and P24 antigen test. All negative.Could you please say if the results are conclusive.
Hi there I am just wondering that when getting a test done hiv if you have to tell the doctor the type of sex you had. For example is there a different test for unprotected anal vs unprotected vaginal sex or is just the standard blood test for all sexual acts. Do I have to tell the doctor what I engaged in or can I just be confident in requesting a test and not worry about giving full details to the doctor.
hi, I need help. 9 weeks ago I had a relationship risk on bleeding during sex. At 63 days (9 weeks) I do an HIV test 1 & 2 (antibody and p24antigen) by chemiluminescence fourth generation by extraction of blood of my vein. It is my result conclusive? This is better than a elisa or is the same?
I had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex(licked vagina) with a female sex worker in 2012 July
I fell really sick after that for two weeks
Headache, weakness, nausea ect
At that time I tested for hiv with Hiv 1/2 antibodies with p24 test and it came back with a result of 0.66
Since then I have been falling sick regularly with symptoms such as stiff neck, nausea and accute weakness, sore eyes ect
I have tested multiple times in last two years for hiv with antibodies plus p24 test
All of them came back negative with values such as 0.08,0.05,0.12 ect
Please tell me is there a risk for hiv infection?
Will antibodies be present for life?
Why was the reading so high first time?
Should I keep on testing?
Is this antibodies test sensitive enough?
Are my tests conclusive?
should I test with rna test?
Please help me to clear my query. I had unprotected sex who HIV status is unknown. But, I suspect, she is HIV positive. My last exposure 8th December, 2015. I first tested WB testing on 12th April, 2016; the result was INDETERMINATE NEGATIVE (Bands present, but pattern does not meet criteria for POSITIVE). This put me in more worry. I then tested ELISA testing on 27th April, 2016; result was NEGATIVE.
What should I consider now? I am suffering from excessive flatulence and gassing. I get my nose block during bed time, at night. I have other unusual problems that I had never experienced and suffered in my life, earlier. Please help.
I tested positive with ELFA at 5 weeks post risky exposure, however i tested non reactive with sd bioline 1/2 rapid test at 5 weeks as well. I need to wait two weeks for western blot, what are the chances I am really positive?
