I had unprotected sex 17 weeks ago. I had 4 HIV tests at 6,9,12 and 16 weeks. They all came back negative.
Now i still have some issues that i didn't have before my exposure. I feel soms small bumps at the back of my nek and one big bump at the front next to my esophagus at the muscle that goes from shoulder to shin. I thought it was a swollen lymphe node, my doctor thought it also but when my results of the bloodtest came back he said that it isn't a lymphe node because my blood doesn't show an infection and the hiv test is negative.
He thought it was a muscle node. But i read that a muscle node is hard and can't move. but this bump is a little bit hard and very movable.
So now i keep thinking that it is a lymph node and that my body doesn't have made any antibodies against the virus. That HIV is in my body but that the test doesn't show it. The 4 HIV tests are 4th generations tests i think. Because on my bloodtest stood ( HIV 1&2 ( Ag/ab)).
Do you think that i am one of the persons that hasn't developed any antibodies yet, but that i need to re-test 6 month periode to be shure that it isn't HIV?
Thanks for answering my question!
Unprotected Sex rick after 9 month antigen & antibody test 100 % confirm result please information me
Hi, I'm worried because I was masturbating with a man (no risk at all) but I tried to perform some oral sex to him, but after 2 or 3 seconds I realized it wasn't correct so I stopped, and now I'm scared because I washed my teeth like 1 hour before that, and also I had small sores as I'm using braces permanently. I couldn't see any wound or lots of pre-seminal liquid on his penis, but I'm scared because maybe I got infected if he was HIV positive, is there any risk in your opinion? Will a 4th gen test be reliable after 21 days? Thanks for your answer I'm really worried
I had unprotected virginal sex with a CSW. But i took pep for 28 days. I started PEP within 72hours. I had the following tests which came back negative.
HIV Duo at 14 weeks post pep.
Hiv rapid ingure prick abtibody test and hepatis A,B and C antigen and antibody test at 4months post PEP.
Hiv rapid fingure prick antibody test at 6 months 1 day post pep.
The problem is that i have been having persistent oral thrush. Am i negative or can i wait and do another hiv test to confirm my status?
Please your response will be highly appreciated
If HIV duo combo test CMIA is negative after 100 days of exposure, is there anything to worry?
I had unprotected vaginale sex, after a week i had oral thrush and muscle pain. After 5 weeks i experienced skin rash on my legs, and upper body. I freaked out and did a HIV test at 6 weeks. This came back negative. The skin rash stayed and i got other symptoms like seborrhic eczema, fatigue and headache. So i did another HIV test at 9 weeks. This test was also negative. Some days after the 9 week HIV test i had really bad nightsweats, fatigue ( couldn't get out of bed), slight fever, i thought i felt some swollen lymphe nodes in nek and groin . This stayed for almost 2 weeks.
So again i did another HIV test at 12 weeks ( 84 days) and it came back negative. We are now 3 weeks later after the last test and i still have symptoms. My lomphe nodes are really swollen in the neck, have muscle pain, i am tired and don't know what to do now.. The skin rash and seborrhic eczema are still there. I didn't have anything of this before the exposure. I know i have made a mistake but i hope i can learn from this and i don't need to live with the consequences for an one time mistake... My docter said the test was conclusive but i still keep thinking what if my antibodies aren't detectable until six months?
All the 3 HIV test were 4th generation test.
when i look at the blood test i see that my crp level is increased from 0 to 5,1. and my leukocytes decreased from 7,30*10^9 to 6,70*10^9 in the last test...
so i am thinking what if the HIV is attacking my system now?
The girl i had unprotected sex with doesn't want to take a test because she said she is negative because she hasn't have symptoms...
Can you give me some advise? Do i need to re-test at 24 weeks or just be calm and forget everything?
Thanks for the answer!
I had an exposure due to broken condom with a CSW about 4 months ago.
This is my only exposure.
After that I got tested few times with 4th generation DU test as below.
1. 6 Weeks after exposure - NonReactive.
2. 10.5 weeks after exposure - NonReactive
3. 13 Weeks after exposure - NonReactive.
in between , I used a dose of antibiotic for throat infection & also eye drops with steroids.
Would this affect the test results ?
Should I consider these results as conclusive or test after 6 months.
thanks for your help in advance.
Good morning I read many answers in HIV HELP LINE however one of your volunteers has given inconsistent and erroneous answers that are consistent with the responses of the other volunteers. While everyone indicates that the window period is 12 weeks (84 days) Mr. Trevor indicates that they are 90 and he has answered many that if they have taken the test at 84 they should do it again after 90 days. He also replied that the elisa of 4 generation is not a duo test. So, the question is because someone from your volunteer community called "Trevor" responds differently to all the rest ????
