4th Generation/DUO test

Multiple tests but still unsure

Team,

Kudos to your good work.

I had sex with an unknown person on 10 Dec 2015, During sex, condom broke and I might have exposed my penis to a high risk. I have got myself checked four times and the results are as below
CMIA: 9 Jan (after 29 days)- 0.29, Nonreactive
Elisa 3rg gen 12 Feb (after about 60 days) - Negative
CMIA: 24 Feb (after 76 days) - 0.21, Nonreactive
CMIA: 15 Mar (after 95 days) - 0.1, Nonreactive

I have not had any risk exposure (stayed away from sex) since 12 Dec. I understand different forums (CDC etc.) recommend testing at 6 months. Should I still be worried and retest again?

Alert Determine HIV 1/2 Ag/Ab Combo

Hello

I only have one simple question about this Rapid HIV Test. I went to the Department of Health and Human Services for testing.
My only and first exposure was long time ago in 2013 unprotected with a girl for less then a minute. Since that incident I never had any potential exposure after that. I learned my lesson and i always use condom.
The test Fingerprick blood and my result was negative. I asked them at the health department what is that type of test we used? The Health manager and coordinator at the Department told me me it is called Alere Determine HIV1/2 Ag/Ab Combo.

I just need your opinion about that test I have undergone, I never heard of it? What do you think about it? Good? Accurate? Reliable? If so, is my test result conclusive? Or should I consider taking different test?

Thank you.

Are my test conclusive?

Hello:

On April 19th I had unprotected oral sex with a girl; she sucked me and I sucked her as well. Now I am very concerned about the real risk of got HIV. These were the tests I have done so far, and all of them got negative:
April, 22th - ELISA (negative)
May, 05th - CMIA (negative)
May, 11st - PCR (undetectable)
May, 21st - ELISA (negative)
Jun, 09th - ELISA (negative)
Jun, 15th - CMIA (negative)
Jun, 17th - NAT (negative)
Jul, 01st - NAT / Elisa (negative)
Jul, 27th - ELISA (negative)

Please, help me. Are these results conclusive or should I keep testing at least until six months? Thank you!

I am super tensed of the whole situation. For the alst week, I have been having diarrohea, very itchy skin, lost my appetite and some rashes. also i feel a bit of higher than normal temperature. i completed 2 weeks today and I am dying here with tension. i can't even do my office work.. i have been asked to wait for a week or 2 to get tested. Please help me.

Testing after 1 month of the risk activity

Hello everyone,

On the 13th May, 2016 I had sex with my roommate after a party and we were both drunk. It was the first and only time. It lasted around 30 minutes and during most of this time we used a condom but in the end he insisted on not using the condom so he penetrated my in my vagina and anus without a condom, however, he did not ejaculate.

A month later, on the 13th June 2016 I took a rapid 4th generation test in the local pharmacy and the pharmacist told me that if the risk activity was at least a month ago the test would be 96% accurate. The result was negative.

I would like to ask if it is really accurate and I can trust this test. I will still get tested again after the 3 months but I am really worried about this.

Thank you so much for your help!

Had unprotected sex with HIV positive prostitute 3 times

Hello there,

Thanks in advance for replying and helping,

I had 3 times unprotected sex with the same person who is HIV positive. First time was hardly 2 seconds, 2nd time was 30 seconds or so and 3rd time for 15 mins approx, all on different days. When I first met her she told me that she has lost lot of weight with natural medicines. After our last meet I was terrified and things started to pop up in my mind that loosing weight could be because of HIV and the way she has sex with me looks she is a sex addict and must be doing the same with everyone out there. So I then secretly consulted other girls around the same place, who than informed me that she is mad about sex and people have reported she even drinks sperm and offers free sex to people who comes for massage, also got to know that she was very obese initially and had lost weight tremendously.

After being terrified with these news I went back to her this time with a condom, and went as if a regular sex meet. Before starting I told her about my anxiety since past few weeks and my worries, but she clearly refused to be HIV positive and saw a complete new side of her by the way she then talked and reacted as if I asked her what she's got. After that I returned home and couldn't get sleep in the night thinking about my wife, and also couldn't make any physical relationship with her. On the 19th day of last exposure without condom, I went ahead and took an early test of PCR RNA and p24 antibidy, but the lab said it will take 4-5 days for the result. So I went to another lab and tested myself with ELISA which looked like a pregnancy tester strip and the lab put my blood on it and said it is negative. I am now sure that preexposure with her I was not infected. But right now, as there is 3-4 days more to go for the results of PCR RNA and p24 test I am dying with guilt and anxiety. I am restless, I need help to find how are my chances against the odds. And what else would cause here severe weightloss? If HIV, then what stage would it have been? I am dying with questions.

PS: a lesson learned that will never ever do it without a condom, never ever.

4th Generation HIV Rapid Test done at 14 days after exposure

Hi,

I went to a regulated brothel which performs monthly medical checkup on their workers and enforces a usage of condom on 9th July.
I had an oral and vaginal sex with a condom but I kissed the worker and she gave me a handjob after sex but I did not ejaculate in the whole activity. Due to increasing concerns, I did a 4th generation HIV rapid test on 23rd July (exactly 14 days after exposure) and I had a negative result.

May I know the accuracy of the test at that moment?
May I know my risk levels of getting infected?

Regards,
William

HIV RNA Test Reliability at 13-14 Days

Hi,

I had unprotected oral sex with a person of unknown HIV status about three weeks ago (both giving and receiving). One week after exposure, I had a 4th generation test that came back negative. 13-14 days after exposure I had a HIV 1 RNA, QN PCR test with sensitivity to <20 (copies/mL) that came back Not Detected.

At three weeks, I am now feeling a bit off -- slight fever, body aches, red blotchy palms, some unexplained rashes on my arm.

Can I take any comfort in my HIV RNA test?

Also, I want to get tested again soon (the anxiety is killing me). Should I take a 4th Generation test, or try to take another HIV RNA test?
