I had a protected vaginal sex. This was my only sexual intercourse for 3-4 month period. I used condom from beginning to end. There were kissing and oral sex (I didn't give, only received for 20-25 seconds and she didn't have a place which is actively bleeding as far as i saw)
But the problem is: I've been dealing with jock itch for a long time. I itch the place between my groin (left and right side of the penis/leg) and it's usually red-rash area. It wasn't bleeding during the sex or before the sex but I read that rashed skin may help tranmission of HIV if any vaginal fluid contacts with it. Is this true? Do I have a chance to catch HIV from my jock itch even If I used condom? (condom doesn't cover that area)
My second question is: She had a suspectful sexual intercourse. We both had tested. (4th generation Alere Determination HIV 1/2 AG/AB Combo, fingerstick) We had tested in 38th day after her possible sexual intercourse. Our tests resulted negative/nonreactive. Is 38 day enough to detect If there was antigens or antibodies? I read some guidelines and research articles and as far as i understand after 28th day (both ab and ag peaks) there may be a time which both antigens or antibodies are not enough to detect. Is this true? Is 38 day enough to understand our situation?
Can you help me with these two questions?
Thank you so much!
During my last sexual encounter which was due to fantasies with a pre op trans woman, received protected anal, but I got anxious that the condom could have been broken, I have made the following tests:
1. HIV PCR and VDRL at day 8, All negative
2. HIV 1/2 COMBO/DUO Test at day 28, All negative
3. HIV COMBO/DUO , VDLR, Hep B and Hep C at day 94, All negative
4. HIV COMBO/DUO at day 101, Negative.
So basically all is negative, but I still have anxiety that I could have messed something with the window period.
Are HIV and VDRL conclusive after 3 months period?
I would appreciate your kind support in this matter.

Hello good day! I'm from Brazil! Forgive me my weak English!
I had a high-risk exposure in which the condom was disrupted in vaginal sex. The girl I related was at the end of my period, but I did not notice visible blood on my penis. When I realized that I had broken I took it off and immediately went to wash. After 10 days of the act I began to feel symptoms that until the present date permance. The symptoms were: oral ulcers, rash, pharyngitis, shivering, body aches and pains, lack of appetite, white tongue, nail fungus, rough nails, peeling of hands and feet, nausea and vomiting, weight loss. I tested with RNA PCR and elisa 4th generation with 20, 33, 50, 70 and 80 and 90 days and gave undetectable and negative. I did another 120 day test and it turned out to be negative. I called the partner to test and she tested with a quick test on the 100 day mark and a 3rd generation Elisa in 120 days and she also came out negative. But I still have symptoms like white tongue, white throat secretion, rash and itching through the body. I am not satisfied with the test, as I fear late seroconversion. What advice can you give me? Thank you very much.
I had an exposure 2 months ago. I did full std tests with 4th gen hiv duo test wrfx at 10, 37; and 47 days. I got results of last back today. All negative. Is this enough to take as conclusively negative? I am so confused and worried. Thank you for any response. My depression has me feeling desperate and wanting to give up
i recently got into a relationship with a lady i did not know of her HIV status. we eventually had an vaginal sex (with no condom). i was very worried though she told me not to that she was sure that she is negative. but out of fear, i went to my clinic and i was given PEP treatment at about 40 hrs post exposure.
the relationship continued and we had another sex 6 days after i started PEP. i was not a brief sex at all and i ended up having some injury on my penis as a result of the activity.
I almost discontinued the PEP, but asked her to just do the HIV test, and it came out positive. i was shocked!!!!!
i have not had any rashes, fever, sore throat and all that except jaundice, nausea and severe weakness once i take the drug.
i experienced an unexplained burning sensation, needle like pricks and colicky pain in and on my penis and my scrotum. sometimes i feel like something wants to come out but nothing comes out of my penis. this started about two weeks after exposure. but no discharge nor sore nor rash around my perineum nor inguinal area.
all STI screening i did were negative and i had to take treatment for STI just in case ( this was my decision).
i have completed my pep and got tested again at day 33 post exposure and day 30 on pep and im still negative.
i was placed on LAMIVUDINE AND TENOFOVIR + ATAZANAVIR AND RITONAVIR.
my questions are
1) will my second exposure limit the efficacy of PEP?
2) should i have extended my PEP to 6 more days.?
3) are those symptoms i had possibly due to seroconversion?
4) is my current negative result encouraging?
thanks a lot for your anticipated prompt response. i am honestly scared.
also, i just got an antibody test approximately 2 months post pep and 3 months post exposure. it came negative. i don not know what to make out of this as my symptoms still persist. my palms and sore of my feet are peeling of now. my bones ache and i am tired like my soul is out of my body. i need help please
I had a risky exposure with a commercial sex worker on Aug 6th 2018.I had protected Vaginal sex but i licked her vagina with a lotion this was unprotected.Afterwards washed my eyes in the bathroom .My eyes became red still experience eye pain even now. I had night sweats, body warmness, fever 97-99 and rashes now there are present under my left arm near my back.
Performed hiv elisa p24 antigen and antibodies test after 12 weeks at 86 days. Result is negative. But still experience the symptoms cold, cough which persist daily. Thinking of hiv everyday are my results Conclusive. Also did hiv 1 pcr rna qualitative on 76 th day which was negative less than 35 copies.
Okay diving into the main part i had a unprotected sex with a girl...20 days ago.later i got so worried about hiv so i asked her if she had a past she told she always had protected sex and she told she had sex with a guy 4 days ago prior to me. I was told hiv transmission would be high in acute stage of infection. So my question if she was lying about the protected sex thing. Would she still transmit the virus at higher rate (because it has been just 4 days she might have got the virus) and she was so kind that she got herself tested (cmia methord which dignoses both ag and ab) on 19th day after she had sex with the other guy and result was negative i have done my dna proviral after 14 days of exposure and the result came negative .
