I had protected sex 2 month ago and I know its protected and hiv can't be passed this way but during the intercourse I heard the condom pop but after ejaculation when I took out I couldn't see it break but since then after 10 days I had fatigue and diarrhea which lasted 1 month and swollen lymph nodes on my neck which lasted about 5 weeks and my main problem is some mouth lesions or ulcers inside my mouth in the area between the wisdom tooth and the tongue and I get sore throat till now that come and go and also night sweats now I know I used a condom but these symptoms have no other explanation I made cbc which was normal t3,t4 were normal also negative for epv and mono and negative at 27 days for syphlis and gnorrhea.
I went for an hiv antibody test at 27 days after the exposure which came back negative but I don't know what generation it is but its name is hiv 1,2 antibody test
and also tested negative at 47 days using the same test they took blood from the vein not finger prick
so what are my chances that I am hiv positive and are these mouth problems an ars symptoms that stay for this long?
I had my last unprotected exposures 2 years ago. I tested negatvie one year later, 3 days ago via Oraquick negative and today received 4th gen negative result. I am a chronic marijuana smoker (3,4 times a week) and I am wondering if my weed smoking habits can cause false negative results? I have smoked marijuana the day before my last HIV test (10 hours before test). I was told by my doctor that he thinks it does not impact HIV test results.
briefly :(after exposure)
- since day 21: had very painful and slightly swollen armpits, chest and groins lymph nodes
- since day 46: had all HIV symptoms like chronic fever, sore throat, joint and muscle pain, bruises, fatigue, white coated tongue
- a negative PCR by day 31
- negative 4th gen ELISA at days 24, 40, 53, 60, 69 and ELFA by day 73
virologist is confused seems there is no other condition with all HIV symptoms together
what should I do now?
I hope you could help me. My daughter got a blood test done at medical clinic in Greece while we were on holiday. The blood test was done by lancet pen. I saw the nurse to take a new lancet BUT the new lancet was put to a lancet pen that was not a single-use pen which means that the pen is used on multiple patients. When we returned home I learned that these lancet pens should not be used on multiple people even if a new lancet is used and that this procedure could put my daughter to a risk for blood-borne viruses such as HIV, HBV or HCV. I took my daughter to a pediatrician and they did "baseline" tests at 6,5 weeks (46 days) post this incidence. All tests were negative and the HIV test they used was 4th. gen test (HIVAgAb). We also learned that my daughter has a good response to Hepatitis A/B vaccination she received when she was 2 yrs. old (thank god for that).
What is the real HIV/HCV risk from this incident? Health officials say that using these pens is a risk even if the lancet is changed. I have read your answers that say that it would be no-risk even when people got pricked with USED lancet. I am really confused.
Taking into account this incidence (new lancet put to a lancet device and only the pen used on oher people than my daughter) how accurate is the 4th gen HIV test done at 46 days? One doctor said it is conclusive and another that we still need to get tested at 12 weeks.
I am so scared and my anxiety level is very high. I am scared that my 10-year-old daughter got infected because I took her to see a doctor while we were on vacation. Please help!
Thanks for the amazing service!!
I had a low risk exposure 11 weeks ago when I had vaginal intercourse with two legal prostitutes. I used condoms which I am 100% did not fail in one of the encounters then during the other I am certain the condom was put on and remained during penetration (which was short) but do not remember taking it off thus providing some anxiety. I have done a fourth generation hiv test (blood drawn from vein and sent to lab)and an Insti test at 45 days (around 6 weeks) followed by another rapid insti test at 65 days (around 9 weeks), a fourth generation test (blood drawn from vein) at 72 days (around 10 weeks) and finally an insti rapid test at exactly 11 weeks. Everything has come back negative. The doctors and nurses at the clinics i did those test have told me they were negative and refuse to test me again, I just really want to know that I am safe as I am entering a new relationship (my new partner being aware of the whole situation). And both would like to ditch the condoms and Im still nervous even though every testing services have told us I am all good. Can I really trust my results?
I really look forward to your answer!
I am a straight 21 year old male. I had unprotected sex for the first time on June 25 with a girl for a few minutes. I started with a condom but could not finish so I took it off for the end. A few days after, I developed a lot of pain in my groin area and legs. I went to my doctor and he said I have an infection and prescribed me penicillin. It turned out to be a muscle strain after an MRI and pain pills. However, I finished the medicine. About 7 days into the medicine treatment, I developed a rash on my chest, oral thrush and a rapid heart rate. My doctor said I was allergic to penicillin and gave a steroid which helped for a while. It then came back and I have had severe anxiety about it being HIV. I asked my partner to get tested about 7 weeks later and she did and was negative. She said I have nothing to worry about however my anxiety is killing me. I did an Oraquick test last week and was negative which was about 11 weeks later. I still cannot get it out of my head. Should I be worried? I have never felt so alone and scared in my life. Thank you.
I have done sexual activity with trans woman sex worker for the first time, Both used condom, I received anal from the trans woman but after reading on internet i got anxiety that the condom was broken or had tears and that is just like condom was not used! The meeting was not too long, was like 1 hour.
I have done PCR RNA and Ab tests at day 8, with other testes like Hep B,C and Syphilis. Thankfully all were negative. After that i read in the Internet that PCR RNA test is not accurate and I read that there is 4th gen test Ab/Ag that can be done after 28 days.
I have done the DUO test at the start of day 28. The result was negative.
I still have anxiety and it is irritating my overall health.
I would appreciate your kind response. Should I stay worried?
[^1]I had a risk exposure on 2nd July 2018 and had the following ARS symptoms, red/ pink rash, stomach problems, red eyes, white tongue, nail discoloration, swollen lymph glands on throat and cheeks, sore throat, joint pain, 10% weight loss. i have tested at 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 10 weeks and its still negative. Should i still worry of an infection? Kindly assist.
<!-- Notes -->
I have performed cunnilingus only on the woman's clitoris for about 1 minute. There was then a lot of non-insertive genital rubbing (vagina on penis) that lasted about 5 minutes. This exposure happened 6 days ago so I still have a long way to go to the 3-month mark for a conclusive test.
What is my risk of contracting HIV? I am extremely concerned to the point I took time off work and feel sick to the stomach everytime I think back on how careless I was. Thank you so much for reading.
On 08/22/18 I gave unprotected oral sex to a man. He did not appear to ejaculate. We also tongue kissed. He had a recently chipped front tooth that appeared red where the tooth had been chipped. I do not believe I had any open cuts in my mouth, but my gums do bleed a little from brushing daily, so I don't know how high the risk is that I could contract HIV that way. 9 days after being with him on 08/31/18 I started experiencing severe stomach pains that felt like bloating or excess gas (GasX did not help), and vomiting, along with constipation (hard & very little stool daily). I have never experienced this type of stomach pain before, and had not vomited in years before that day. I purchased an Oraquick test kit today (09/09/18) which is now 18 days after being exposed and the result was negative. My stomach discomfort has mostly subsided, but I now have a strange nagging muscle/joint ache in my left hip area whenever I move that leg, along with constipation still. I do not know the status of the man I was with. Any info would be helpful. I am planning on having a Rapid HIV test done as soon as I hit the 4 week mark.
