4th Generation/DUO test

P24 antigen + VIH1+2 test

I had a risk behavior so I want to know as much as possible i can.

6-7 Days after the relation, i went to MD and he told me that i have to wait to take hiv test, but in case i couldnt i should take P24 antigen test + VIH1+2 test.

I dont know wich generation the test was, bur the results are:

VIH 1 + 2 NEGATIVE
Technic: Antingen-Antibody reaction

Ag. P 24 NEGATIVE
Technic: WESTERN-BLOT

With this information: is it possible to know wich generation of test the lab performed?
Ag.P 24 is reliable?

I understand that i have to wait to have another test. but with those a made mean something? or do not at all.

Regards

4th gen elisa accuracy after 27 days.

I had protected anal sex (bottom) and unprotected oral sex, I tested 27 days after and the results came back negative. Shld I still be worried or is it almost 100% safe that I am not HIV+?

cut/anilingus

Hi. 24 days ago I received oral and anilingus. I know the risk is negligible for these, but the thing is I had a cut around my anus where he was giving. I don't know why I'm stressing this so much. Is 24 days too soon to get accurate results from a 4th generation test? Also, are you guys related to CDC in terms of information about everything with risks and such?

Does RNA TMA test help at this time?

Hello Community,

I have read some recent post and really appreciate volunteer people who take their time and help others. I'm one of them and I'm actually MUCH MUCH MORE TERRIFIED terrified right now as I'm feeling MUCH BETTER (almost as same old me) from last few days which turned out to be just a miracle.

About one and half month ago, I have had receptive unprotected anal sex. I had some bleeding hemorrhoids. Everything was fine for two to three weeks and things went downhill for me. I've FELT (not inflating any bit of it) possibly symptoms that happens with ARS.. had a mid grade burning fever, severe fatigue, night sweats, 15 sudden red blotches, sores in mouth, rash on face and chest area, total brain fog, swollen lymph not under armpit, anemia... I can go on an on ). It was terrible two to four weeks and now suddenly I feel great with clear mind.

-> Highest Risk of Anal UNPROTECTED receptive sex
-> Hemorrhoids
-> 2-4 weeks of severe ARS symptoms
-> Worst Symptoms suddenly went away and for now I'm just feeling awesome again, which worries me with clear mind/body as few weeks ago it worried me with unclear mind/body :-(

I had following test done
1) 1 week 4th gen ab/ag duo -ve
2) 4 1/2 week 4th gen ab/ag duo -ve
3) 5 1/2 week 4th gen ab/ag duo -ve
4) 5 1/2 week RNA TMA non-reactive...

I understand that by 4 week 95% will test positive in 4th gen. Worried that I might be in 5% who developes ab/ag after that time so I got RNA TMA done ...Does that give me some consolation ?

Unprotected Oral Sex, Elisa Combo and PCR

Hi all
first of all I've to say this helpline is very useful and well done too.
Let's move straighforward to the point. I'm in a homosexual relationship since 3 years but in May we decided both to have one experience each with other guys, always protected insertive sex and both did unprotected oral sex without ejaculation in the mouth and without any sort of contact with blood.
Doing some math
My Boyfriend took an Elisa 4th generation (antibodies + p24) test 35 days after the "possible" exposure with the unprotected oral sex he had, results negative (no reactive).
I took a PCR RNA test after 15 days from the last exposure combined with a Elisa 4th generation test resulting "undetectable , less then 37 copies/ml " and not reactive to the antibody + p24 test.

I know PCR RNA is not a diagnosing tool (but my doctor prescribed me because he found me very anxious) because of high cost, technical problem and high rate of false positive but that actually is a high sensitivity test (so very few false negative results). What I am wondering now is
1) does my boyfriend can take his results as conclusive ?
2) can i take mine as conclusive ?

Now we are 6 (my boyfriend) and 4 (me) weeks after the last possible exposure and we do not have any syntomphs.
Thanks for all !

Is HIV test at 84 days and 85 days conclusive?

Sir,
I did a HIV 1 & 2 and P24 combo (CMIA) test after 84 days of possible HIV infection. I took another test a different lab (HIV 1/2 spot test screening) at 85 days. Both the result came out non-reactive.
Should I go for another test at 90 days or my tests are conclusive?
I recently had a TETANUS VACCINE after my tests. I found on the internet that TETANUS VACCINE can cause false positive in rare cases. I don't want to give myself tension by getting the false positive. Please walk me through all the tests that are not affected by TETANUS VACCINE in detection of HIV 1 &2. I want to relive myself from this HIV (1&2) tension.
In my home city, labs are offering only HIV 1 RNA QUANTITATIVE, REAL TIME PCR. Will it work? What about HIV 2?
Please help

question about testing

Hi there I am just wondering that when getting a test done hiv if you have to tell the doctor the type of sex you had. For example is there a different test for unprotected anal vs unprotected vaginal sex or is just the standard blood test for all sexual acts. Do I have to tell the doctor what I engaged in or can I just be confident in requesting a test and not worry about giving full details to the doctor.

please assess my risk, should i relax now?

hi,

i am extremely worried and depressed for the past 2 months over a mistake i made. i had a high risk exposure with a CSW. i was under influence of heavy alcohol and had a brief 30 second unprotected vaginal sex with a CSW. she sucked my nipples and later i wore a condom and I had protected vaginal and oral sex. I just went to sleep as i was so drunk and when I woke up the CSW was gone with my purse and belongings. Later when i tried to call she never picked up. I recall everything and dats y i remember penetrating her for about 15-30 seconds without condom. I also remember she gave me unprotected handjob. This incident happened on april 7. I got a mouth ulcer on may 2 which subsided on may 5 after I used orasore. then again last week i had 2 small mouth ulcers which disappeared in a day after I used orasore and also very mild diarrhea which lasted 3 days. no fever nothing. as i got very scared about hiv i decided to test. I did not know anything about PEP dats y i could not start in within 3 days of exposure.please refer below for my testing details:-

please refer to my test results below:-
risk date- april 7,2016

hiv-1 rna QUANTITATIVE pcr on april 18- negative, target not detected (10 days after exposure)

hiv 1/2 & p24 antigen combo test(CMIA) on may 6- index value- 0.07 negative(28 days after exposure)

hiv-2 pcr detection on may 14- negative, target not detected(37 days after exposure)

hiv 1/2 & p24 antigen combo test(CMIA) on may 21- index value- 0.11 target not detected(44 days after exposure)

hiv-1 rna QUALITATIVE PCR on may 23- negative, target not detected(46 days after exposure)

hiv 1/2 & p24 antigen combo test(CMIA) on june 2- index value- 0.07 target not detected(56 days after exposure)

the hiv specialist doctor I have been consulting online has said that my results r conclusive and i dont need to worry now and no need for further testing. should i test on june 30 which is 84 days or my results r conclusive now?

4generation chemiluminescence lab test for vih 1 & 2 antigen p24 help

hi, I need help. 9 weeks ago I had a relationship risk on bleeding during sex. At 63 days (9 weeks) I do an HIV test 1 & 2 (antibody and p24antigen) by chemiluminescence fourth generation by extraction of blood of my vein. It is my result conclusive? This is better than a elisa or is the same?
