I had unprotected sex 17 weeks ago. I had 4 HIV tests at 6,9,12 and 16 weeks. They all came back negative.
Now i still have some issues that i didn't have before my exposure. I feel soms small bumps at the back of my nek and one big bump at the front next to my esophagus at the muscle that goes from shoulder to shin. I thought it was a swollen lymphe node, my doctor thought it also but when my results of the bloodtest came back he said that it isn't a lymphe node because my blood doesn't show an infection and the hiv test is negative.
He thought it was a muscle node. But i read that a muscle node is hard and can't move. but this bump is a little bit hard and very movable.
So now i keep thinking that it is a lymph node and that my body doesn't have made any antibodies against the virus. That HIV is in my body but that the test doesn't show it. The 4 HIV tests are 4th generations tests i think. Because on my bloodtest stood ( HIV 1&2 ( Ag/ab)).
Do you think that i am one of the persons that hasn't developed any antibodies yet, but that i need to re-test 6 month periode to be shure that it isn't HIV?
Thanks for answering my question!

Hi, so a few months ago, I was visiting another city. While taking a walk with my friends we noticed a homeless man who was about to fall over, so my friend quickly went to go help him stand up and sit down on a bench. Meanwhile I saw that the man had left his belongings on the ground, including a plastic bag. As I grabbed the plastic bag to give it to the man, with my hands, I noticed a sharp sensation in a few places in my hand, like needle pricks. I opened the bag and saw needle syringes scattered with tissues. My hand was also bleeding in maybe 3 spots. I never made the connection that this was a risk, as I just assumed it was for diabetes or something, and just cleaned my hands and went on without more thought.
However, I recently read about the risks of needle pricks, and am now highly worried I was exposed to something like HIV.
Do you think there was any risk?
I'm currently dating this guy. I'm feeling really paranoid right now because we've been having sexual contact recently. The furthest we have gone is oral sex (giving and receiving unprotected) and him rubbing his penis (covered with a condom), and almost inserting it inside me. Yesterday, I was concerned because when I performed oral on him, there was precum but he didn't ejaculate. I only performed oral for a little bit. Afterwards, I became worried because I had sort of an open sore on the inside of my lip. It wasn't like a bleeding sore. I have a habit of biting my lip and peeling the old skin off so it sort of leaves a sore, but it doesn't bleed or anything. I heard that oral sex is a lower risk of getting HIV, but a huge risk is posed when the person performing oral has open sores or bleeding gums in their mouths. The guy I'm dating, before we ever became sexual with each other, I asked if he's clean and been tested for STD's. He replied that with him being in the military, they often test soldiers for stuff like HIV. So, he said he was clean. Now, I'm not familiar with the military and how often they get tested, but I still can't help but feel concerned because of my paranoia and worry about getting STD's. So, it's hard for me to take his word for it. Anyway, from what I have explained so far, could I be at risk for HIV? Should I get tested?
Hi, I'm worried because I was masturbating with a man (no risk at all) but I tried to perform some oral sex to him, but after 2 or 3 seconds I realized it wasn't correct so I stopped, and now I'm scared because I washed my teeth like 1 hour before that, and also I had small sores as I'm using braces permanently. I couldn't see any wound or lots of pre-seminal liquid on his penis, but I'm scared because maybe I got infected if he was HIV positive, is there any risk in your opinion? Will a 4th gen test be reliable after 21 days? Thanks for your answer I'm really worried
I had unprotected virginal sex with a CSW. But i took pep for 28 days. I started PEP within 72hours. I had the following tests which came back negative.
HIV Duo at 14 weeks post pep.
Hiv rapid ingure prick abtibody test and hepatis A,B and C antigen and antibody test at 4months post PEP.
Hiv rapid fingure prick antibody test at 6 months 1 day post pep.
The problem is that i have been having persistent oral thrush. Am i negative or can i wait and do another hiv test to confirm my status?
Please your response will be highly appreciated
I have an extreme fear of needles, sharp objects and fear of hiv. I apologize for my questions but I really need some one to answer this. I constantly worry about this all the time. I know I need help, but believe me I have tried several times, talking to doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, medicine...unfortunately nothing has helped me.
Quickly, let me give you the complete story. A few months ago my neighbors were being excessively loud very late outside. Teenagers, were having a party and they were playing music so late. I called the cops and asked them to go to their house (since it was almost 1 am) to have them turn the music off. It is not the first time I have called on them. I did call once before that a few years back. Anyway, I got nervous what if they do something to us because we called the cops. The neighbors somehow knew it was us because one of the parents, who must have been inside the house when the kids were outside making all that noise, was home and must have spoke with the cops. She apologized for her kids making noise the next day, either because she knew it was that we called the cops or maybe the cops mentioned that it was us next store that made a complaint. Regardless, I worried I hope they do not do anything to our house etc.
Now fast forward to a few months - about a week or so ago. My husband was in the backyard, we have a very woodsy area, he was trimming bushes and trees and usually he does this with gloves on but he was doing it very quickly and so he trimmed a bunch of brush that was overgrowing near our garden which is located in the back yard and the woods are around us and our next door neighbors, (who we called the cops on) house is right there, in the back yard where the kids hang out you can see them through the trees and bushes when we are in our back yard. Anyway, my husband was trimming all the bushes WITHOUT gloves and he picked up the stuff to throw it further into the woods and he got poked in his finger by something sharp. Once he told me about it I freaked out automatically thinking what if he got poked by a used needle that the kids threw from their yard over to our yard, with the intent to harm us while doing yard work, because they are upset we called the cops on them a few months ago. My husband, did not see anything really and just assumed it was a branch however, carried on like it was nothing. There were no thorns over where he was picking up all the stuff he trimmed and so my thought is what if it was a needle. Now I am intensely worried and upset thinking what if he got poked with an hiv infected needles. God knows what kids are doing partying in their yard, most likely drinking but my mind is thinking what if they are doing drugs and shooting up..who knows. Because it happened to my husband, my fear is now hiv and that I have it too because my husband and I have sex. So I ask you please kindly answer me and tell me if this is me being irrational or if this is a legit concern. I have no one to talk to about this and my husband says if I ask him if it is a needle again he is going to flip out. I mean, I do not understand why he is not concerned about a needle and just assumes it was a sharp branch that happened to poke his finger. Please tell me if I should be concerned about hiv (since I have sex with my husband) or if this story sounds highly irrational. Has anyone ever got HIV from poking their finger with a needle on the ground? Lastly, I know you were not there, however, after hearing this story, would you think it was a needle too or do you think it is because I have this extreme fear that I am just automatically think this and should I be worried now that my husband and I now have hiv? Is this likely to happen please please please help. I am so upset/depressed and worried I am freaking out all my myself.
Is Rizene alone a good hiv-PEP drug, taken within 48 hours after exposure and testing hiv-negative.
I had unprotected vaginale sex, after a week i had oral thrush and muscle pain. After 5 weeks i experienced skin rash on my legs, and upper body. I freaked out and did a HIV test at 6 weeks. This came back negative. The skin rash stayed and i got other symptoms like seborrhic eczema, fatigue and headache. So i did another HIV test at 9 weeks. This test was also negative. Some days after the 9 week HIV test i had really bad nightsweats, fatigue ( couldn't get out of bed), slight fever, i thought i felt some swollen lymphe nodes in nek and groin . This stayed for almost 2 weeks.
So again i did another HIV test at 12 weeks ( 84 days) and it came back negative. We are now 3 weeks later after the last test and i still have symptoms. My lomphe nodes are really swollen in the neck, have muscle pain, i am tired and don't know what to do now.. The skin rash and seborrhic eczema are still there. I didn't have anything of this before the exposure. I know i have made a mistake but i hope i can learn from this and i don't need to live with the consequences for an one time mistake... My docter said the test was conclusive but i still keep thinking what if my antibodies aren't detectable until six months?
All the 3 HIV test were 4th generation test.
when i look at the blood test i see that my crp level is increased from 0 to 5,1. and my leukocytes decreased from 7,30*10^9 to 6,70*10^9 in the last test...
so i am thinking what if the HIV is attacking my system now?
The girl i had unprotected sex with doesn't want to take a test because she said she is negative because she hasn't have symptoms...
Can you give me some advise? Do i need to re-test at 24 weeks or just be calm and forget everything?
Thanks for the answer!
i am really sorry for disturbing you again
I went to get tested in a lab , Soon after test I have become overwhelmed with the anxiety of getting infected from contaminated gloves! The lady who tested , used new gloves cleaned the area from where the blood was to be drawn with a alcohol swab , the blood was drawn everything is fine till here , but she kept the sealed alcohol swabs in the same tray , she had kept for the previous patient, she opened the swabs and used while removing the needle , and rest is under
Here are my assumptions: * the previous persons small amount of blood (possibly while drawing the sample.) and the blood is infected would be on the tray in which the swabs were kept . * The blood was wiped off or remained so little to notice, but there were some viruses left over on the gloves (No visible blood or fluid on the gloves, though i did not observe thoroughly) * she picked a new piece of alcohol swab with those contaminated gloves to wipe and afterwards to block the blood from flowing out after withdrawing the needles)
* Here are my questions: * What is the likelihood of getting infected this way? Can you say that the possibility is nil? No test is needed? * Can viruses in dried and invisible form (I assume)pass on from the gloves onto the brand-new alcohol swab and then to the outlet where my blood was drawn? or Directly to blood * Is one minute long enough for viruses to die, given invisible state with room temperature? * Can alcohol swab I dont know what types, immediately kill HIV , hepatitis A,B,C or any other virus upon contact? If not, how long? * If the viruses were alive, would it be sufficient in terms of quantity to infect me through the wound? Again, I simply just didnt see any visible stain of blood or fluid on the gloves at all. * Does pressing and holding alcohol swab that carrying some virus on the wound for kill the virus or allow viruses to get into my bloodstream? (The way most doctors here usually do after every blood drawing to block the flowing). Bec while removing needle there was some blood on the alcohol swab may be 10 to 15 drops of blood i am worried because gloves touched the blood ,the blood that was coming out once nurse removed the syringe can i get infected this way I am desperately in need of the answer requesting to please reply once
