HIV Testing

Shock like syndrome

Hello
I had a high risk sex and got tested many times during this 3 months post exposure all negative
Due to Brucellosis diagnosis It’s been 1 week I’m taking antibiotics like Rifampin and I feel a shock like syndrome (I don’t know if it’s called Flu-like symptom but it’s like a pulse through my body when I move my it) which is so annoying. Also I’m suffering from muscle, neck, armpit and joint pain, nausea, chills, fatigue and dizziness
What do you suggest?

Oral sex and deep kissing

Hello, Thanks for this awesome service.

I have a quick question regarding my exposure yesterday (the day before this question is being sent).
I met with a guy who said he is married and disease free. we decided to hang out at my place, we had long session of deep kissing and mild lip biting and he ended with giving me a blow job. but today i found out from him that he didn't get tested over a year. So this bothers me a lot now. i didn't notice any bleeding or sores. i didn't had any sores that i remember. but i always thought kissing was safe sex activity until i see some discrepancies now. this case is m4m

please advice if i need to get tested, and when should i get tested. i was going to get tested after 28 days with a blood draw. do you think it will be accurate by that time. thx

4th generation hiv test

46 days after the risk I did a test that said the following:
Anti hiv 1 + 2 and negative p24 antigen
Method: Electro-chemiluminescence
This test is based on the simultaneous determination of IgG anti-HIV1 and anti-HIV2 and antigenaemia p24, which allows to reduce the delay between contamination and virus detection.
According to what you have mentioned before, the test that combines the search for antibodies and antigens at the same time is of 4 generation and the window period is 6 weeks in 99% according to many experts. The question I have is that in my test it says: Anti HIV 1 + 2 AND ANTIGEN P24 NEGATIVE
Method: Electro-Chemiluminescence and after says: This test is based on the simultaneous determination of IgG anti-HIV1 and anti-HIV2 and antigenaemia p24, which allows to reduce the delay between contamination and virus detection. I have read that those of 4 generation usually look for igG and igM and p24 antigen. Could it be that my test only looks for IgG and p24 antigen or have IgM ignored or is it normal? Is it still 4 generation to look for antibodies and antigens? Can I stay calm for being 4? Thank you very much for your help andgreetings from barcelona, you do a magnificent job

please reply , i have sent a mail also

Suspected HIV infection

Hi,

One month back I visited a Strip club, During my visit I felt a prick on my hand.
With in One week I had Fever and pain in my hand. During that week I had Headache (I never had headache like that before it was like hangover and pain that comes and goes.)

At this point I went to Doctor I went through HIV 1 RNA test at 13th day and 19th day after exposure both are negative for HIV.

I had mild Sore throat, mild Cough and pain while urination (From 20th day after potential exposure). At this point I went through 4th generation HIV testing at 22 days and one more at 31 days after potential exposure. Both are negative.

What are my chances of infection and What pter testing I can go through.

Contact with sexual fluids

Hi. I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, but I can't seem to find it. I am a woman who had a sexual encounter with a man of unknown hiv status. We used a condom for penetration, but up until then we were unprotected, so there was definitely contact between our genitals and fluids (vaginal and pre-cum) and for quite some time. Am I at risk?
Thank you so much

Are my results conclusive?

hiv tridot at 17 weeks negative.

test vih 4 generation

Good morning,
I did an HIV test 45 days of the risk situation but did not say if it was 4 generation or what generation it was the following:

Anti HIV 1 + 2 AND ANTIGEN P24 NEGATIVE
Method: Electro-Chemiluminescence

This test is based on the simultaneous determination of IgG anti-HIV1 and anti-HIV2 and antigenaemia p24, which allows to reduce the delay between contamination and virus detection.

Is it a fourth generation test? The Spanish health ministry told me that a 4-generation test passed 6 weeks of the risk situation.
Thank you.

Protected Vaginal Sex & HIV RNA PCR (Mr AB)

Hi Team,

Thanks for the wonderful job you are doing.

Please note my question below

I am 32 year old circumcised male and recently on my trip to Asia I had indulged in sexual activity and I wanted to know whether am I at risk. Following are the sexual activity

1) Protected vaginal sex using double condoms. After sexual activity I checked both condom and found them to be intact, that is no broken condom or no leakage etc.

2) Protected oral sex. I used single condom which never broke in oral sex.

3) There was absolutely no kissing or anything else involved.

4) I just touched her vaginal area ( only surface no insertion) once for few seconds and later I realized I had a minor non- bleeding cut on my finger. This cut was 2 days old and although bit deep seemed only superficial as there was never any bleeding.

At no time her fluids touched me except maybe during touching her vaginal surface or her fluid on my pubic hair.

I have already undergone HIV RNA PCR test on 16th Day after my sexual activity ( >2 weeks) and it came out negative.

Please let me know am I still at risk?

Unprotected Sex

Good afternoon, My case is as follow, I am a man an I had sex with a prostitute and the condom broke, I realized until we finished the intercourse. I got nervous and asked her to show me her HIV tests, she showed me, but the one was from 3 months ago and the result was NON-REACTIVE, I told her it was too old, so I asked her to go with me to a health center and perform an updated HIV test, she accept. The test was done and the result was likewise NON-REACTIVE. I was investigating post-exposure prophylaxis and as I found, in my country they do not apply it if the result of the test has been NEGATIVE (NON-REACTIVE). This is correct? I mean, can I be sure that she does not have HIV and therefore could not have infected to me? Beforehand thank you very much.
