worried

I've had protected sex on 1st May 2016.
1.On the 21th day from exposure, i took the following tests-Hiv antibody/antigen,vdrl,Hepatitis B and C test.All negative.
2.On the 33rd day from exposure ,I've taken HIV 1proviral dna test and 4th generation HIV antibody and P24 antigen test. All negative.Could you please say if the results are conclusive.

Unprotected Oral Sex, Elisa Combo and PCR

Hi all
first of all I've to say this helpline is very useful and well done too.
Let's move straighforward to the point. I'm in a homosexual relationship since 3 years but in May we decided both to have one experience each with other guys, always protected insertive sex and both did unprotected oral sex without ejaculation in the mouth and without any sort of contact with blood.
Doing some math
My Boyfriend took an Elisa 4th generation (antibodies + p24) test 35 days after the "possible" exposure with the unprotected oral sex he had, results negative (no reactive).
I took a PCR RNA test after 15 days from the last exposure combined with a Elisa 4th generation test resulting "undetectable , less then 37 copies/ml " and not reactive to the antibody + p24 test.

I know PCR RNA is not a diagnosing tool (but my doctor prescribed me because he found me very anxious) because of high cost, technical problem and high rate of false positive but that actually is a high sensitivity test (so very few false negative results). What I am wondering now is
1) does my boyfriend can take his results as conclusive ?
2) can i take mine as conclusive ?

Now we are 6 (my boyfriend) and 4 (me) weeks after the last possible exposure and we do not have any syntomphs.
Thanks for all !

question about testing

Hi there I am just wondering that when getting a test done hiv if you have to tell the doctor the type of sex you had. For example is there a different test for unprotected anal vs unprotected vaginal sex or is just the standard blood test for all sexual acts. Do I have to tell the doctor what I engaged in or can I just be confident in requesting a test and not worry about giving full details to the doctor.

HIV infection tests

i had an sexual intercourse with a call girl in thailand on last week of (30april2016). i had a protected sex but my condom became little loose later so i am not sure of protection. since then i am afraid of infection. i face some symptom on hiv like tired, dry mouth, loss of appetite, diahorrea, rashes.so by then i did some tests 30days after sex (30may2016). hiv anitbodies test result came was non-reactive . dna pcr test also i had taken results have not come still. can u please tell me that whether i am in safe state or have any other test to detect the hiv much earlier. some people say i have to wait for 3 to 6 months. i am confused. please help me.

PCR RNA question (please answer)

Hello all, thank you for the great answers you guys give.

I have a quick question about the PCR RNA test. Do they need a sample of your blood from "before" an exposure to compare it to? Meaning do they need to see what/how your cells looked like before an exposure and then after to see if/how much of the virus is actually in you? I hope that makes sense.

question 2: If they do not need a before blood sample, what are they actually looking for? Does HIV actually have a distinct look?

I had a reactive result to my HIV 1+2 Ab + HIV p24 AA test. Then they re-ran the test (protocol) and the HIV 1 RNA (PCR/NAAT) test found "No HIV 1 RNA detected" and the interpretation was that it was not consistent with HIV infection but a follow up EDTA is required to confirm.
I am now waiting for the results of the EDTA and my anxiety is through the roof!!
What are the chances that the initial test was a false positive? Is it more likely that the first test was a false positive or that the second test was a false negative?

p24 antigen test

hi thanks for your wonderful service and support i had a hiv blood test pcr rna at 7 days and p24 antigen test at 31 days after the possible transmission
both came negative and i have a rash on my back for 6 weeks i didnt have fever or any other symptoms if the rash is a symptoms of hiv my blood test at 31 days would be positive rite

Multiple Tests?

Hello,

I had unprotected sex with a male (male) it was minorly rough, and no ejaculation inside. It was Feb 19. Never was sick after.

I got tested by blood at a lab on March 21st. Got my results later and negative. Along with all clear on vitamin and other levels.

I got an Oraquick on like day 75 or something, week 11. Negative as well.

During that timeframe, I got a yellow fever and other shots, and they went just fine. I also had some cuts and they healed no issue.

So, everything should be good? I just am way paranoid all the time. Safe, always!

please help me on my situation
