ENDLES WORRY!!

I last asked a question on this platform on 7th of JUN and well answered. Thank you guys for the services. however, my worries continue. Due to nonstop browsing of the internet for HIV information since i last became suspicious of my possible exposure to HIV now 2 months back, and almost having visited every HIV site, it looks like every site mentions skin rash and headache as some of the major symptoms of early HIV infections. It is by no doubt that i have experienced these symptoms at one time and the current one being a very mild headache. 1 week ago i experienced strong dizziness where low blood pressure and dehydration were diagnosed and was put on IVs and the dizziness reduced but hardly has the mild headache gone away. OK, i know also these can be due many other causes but i cant rule out the fact this can be due to sero-conversion illness because never in my life have i ever got this severe dehydration, and a SKIN RASH!!!. Though all my sexual activities were categorized low risk, i cant rule out the fact carefulness could not have been highly observed during the acts. Nevertheless, i have become a daily customer to the HIV testing centers and all my 6 tests have returned non reactive the recent one having been made on 22nd (8/9 weeks) JUN. My brother who is a health professional has told me never to rely on these rapid (determine) tests as they can only be trusted 60% before the 3 months window period yet i also fear to do other tests like the PCR which can detect the virus no mater the window period. some piece of advice please!!

Concerned and Scared!!

Good Afternoon! I am a bi-married man, who has had a few sexual encounters with men, all protected - but twice I had a condom break, and subsequently I have taken the OraQuick Home test every month for the past 12 months. I have recently learned two individuals are HIV - Undetectable, but neither are sure if they were infected during our encounter. I have never tested positive, but show symptoms of HIV.....Oral Thrush, Rash, Sporadic Headaches around my eyes, Night Sweats, and diarrhea. I am scared to death, and afraid to go to my doctor. I have read many cases, of similar nature, and the symptoms I'm experiencing can be self induced (with the exception of Thrush) from stress and anxiety.

Looking for direction and support!

My risk level, and when i should get tested

Hi, i was had a possible high exposure about 2 months ago when a condom broke. I started PEP about 32 hours post exposure. I have a few questions. I have noticed a rash that resembles hives and about 5 sores that resemble exemia (dry skin, when i scratched it a little the skin fell off and left a sore. basically the skin peeled) showed up after my pep ended probably about 6 weeks after exposure. my skin is itchy a lot and I have heard these are all possible symptoms of contracting the virus.

1. My pep ended about a month ago when should i get tested?
2. Is the rash a sign i have contracted the virus?
3. Assuming it is hiv rash when will it stop itching?

Thanks

Question

Hello,

My name is Marius and I am 31 old.4 weeks ago I had vaginal sex and oral sex with a sexworker protected. I protected all the time. Only a week after I started having various symptoms . Now after 4 weeks I took the first test and the result are :

Anti - HIV 1+2-Ser / electrochemiluminiscenta (HIV combi)--------------Negative

RPR cantitativ --Ser / Metoda imunoturbidimetrica ----------------------Negative

Anticorpi Treponema pallidum - cantitativ ---Ser / ECLIA--TPLA-----------Negative

Even if the test came out negative after 4 weeks , I worry because I had a healed wound on his penis and think not to have taken any virus even if I protected.
I would be eternally grateful if you would tell how conclusive test is done only after 4 weeks.

Thank you very much

HAVING STOMACH PROBLEM FOR 3 MONTHS AFTER ORAL SEX

Hi there, I had an oral with a girl. I had canker sore on my tongue during the oral sex (3 months from now). I was careful a bit, i just lick the girls vagina and did not swallow the saliva or her cum. After that, I had dihoria for 3 days and then stopped.

But, I am continiously having stomach guggling and diahorreah, not really watery but when i go to the toilet, its gas and bubbles. I am also having mild head ache. I asked the girl and she said her health status is ok. She said she was check and she is ok.

I am confused, is this HIV or some other diseases? Please I need some advices.

Thank you

Do I have HIV?

Hello,

Two weeks ago I had protected sex with a girl, but the condom broke and we realised after about 15 minutes of having sex. The girl that I was with also gave me oral sex ( protected ) exactly after we have normal sex, but after giving me oral sex we kissed each other and I am worried that I might have got the hiv virus from her vaginal fluids that were present in her mouth. Exactly 8 days after we had sex I had a rough cold but not with high fever, sore throat or rash on the body, just the normal common cold that everyone has. Now I am trying to think if these were hiv or there weren't hiv symptoms.I did not realised the risk at the moment and now I am trying to realise if I should get an HIV test or not. I do not usually do these type of things and I tested myself everytime when I felt at risk, but right now I am not sure if it is an risk or not. I would kindly appreciate any answer that I could get. Thank you very much.

Can a person experience acute HIV symptoms "twice"?

Hi,

I had an exposure in May 2016. I tested two days later for chlamydia/gonorrhea and HIV; chlamydia was negative, but gonorrhea was positive. HIV was negative, but this did not mean much as it was in the window (although it did let me know I had not gotten HIV up until February). I will be retested for HIV at 6 weeks. I was given a dose of azithromycin (4 x250mg pills all at once) and shot of rocephin. Experienced fatigue for about a week at the three week mark and also noticed texture of the top of my tongue had changed. Fatigue has since dissipated but tongue still weird, one month after taking the antibiotics.

My partner and I had been going out for for six months. She had complained about pain in her lower right abdomen on several occasions and had had a rash on her arms at one stage. In March, she experienced short illness with flu like symptoms (about three days) and rash, which lasted a few days after the fever.

My questions are:

1. Can a person experience acute HIV symptoms "twice"? My 25 yr old partner experienced these symptoms in March, but we were exclusive partners since November. I was negative up until at least February, which makes the timing seem off. If she were HIV positive, it would have happened between last June and November (which, I assume, would mean she would have had these same symptoms earlier, if she had had any symptoms). She recently also tested, is waiting on results.

2. Is fatigue on its own a common symptom of ARS?

3. Is it typical my tongue is still weird after one month of taking the antibiotics? I went to the dentist, who said it was just drinking too much coffee but I was not convinced.

4. Are fungal issues on the toe nails a symptom of acute HIV infection, or only later HIV infection?

Thanks for your time.

Tests Negative but symptoms keep developing

Hi dear Sir/Mamm,

Please help me solve the mysterious symptoms I've been going through for almost a month. I first started to feel gum hurting and a dry mouth on the 27th of May, the next day I started to have thrush on my tongue. I was so scared that this could be an indication of HIV infection. Since I've given oral sex to the same guy two and a half years, and also nine months ago. I went to my routine physical exam on the 28th, did a complete check on most body parts, CTs, x-rays and Blood tests all came out normal.

I went to a clinic to seek help for the thrush on May 31. The doctor examined my mouth and gave me a throat culture test which was NEGATIVE. He then expressed concerns on my immune system, suggesting me to take an HIV + STDs test, which I did. He also asked about my white blood cell levels, which I know is normal from the physical exam I took a few days before.

The next few days waiting for the results were like hell to me. My stomach started to make sounds the night I went back from the clinic, and I had diarrhea for a day after that. Also felt fatigue sometimes and my dry mouth and oral thrush keeps getting worse, the anti-fungal medicine my doctor prescribed didn't help at all.

On June 3rd, I finally got my test results, everything came back NEGATIVE. But I didn't feel relieved because I'm still having the oral thrush, and it seemed have spread to my throat since I feel a bit pain when swallowing food.

I went to the clinic again on June 5th in search for the cause of my persisting thrush, and why I keep developing symptoms that are very close to hiv infection. The doctor reassured me that my previous test results are accurate since it was a 4th GEN AT/AG test. But I was still concerned since they didn't do the test in house; they drew my blood and sent the samples to a lab for the test. I worried that the results could've been wrong due to lab errors or mistakes made through this process. The doctor said I can get a rapid finger prick test on-site to give myself a peace of mind. I did, and the result is also NEGATIVE. The doctor then concluded that the thrush might be a result of antibiotics I took for a week after my wisdom teeth removal on May 14th.

Now more than a week after that, my thrush started to fade, but there still is quite a bit of thrush at the end of my tongue. I started to find rashes on my chest, my back and on my arms. Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and a weird brownish red mark on my right arm. I experienced some mild fever last night and today, and the sore throat continues to bother me. My stomach still makes noises, I tend to get marks on my skin easily and sometimes my muscles sours for no reason.

__

I know I probably seem really paranoid, but is there a chance that I was at the late stage of an infection so the test couldn't find any antibodies? (I asked this since I read thrush is a symptom mostly occurring on late-stage patients.)

Or could it be some kind of new string of virus that the tests couldn't detect? And how likely could the clinic have messed up my test results?

Is it necessary for me to get tested again using methods that look for the virus directly? Like RNA or viral load tests? Is it necessary to get a CD4/CD8 count too to rule out any other immune system diseases?

I'd be really grateful if you could answer my concerns since they've been bothering me so much!!
