I received blowjob from a CSW around a month ago. The blowjob act was unprotected. However, there was no cunnilingus or penetrative sex involved. I know that transmission of HIV in such a case is quite unlikely, however, I am concerned about other STIs, more specifically Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. What I know is that the symptoms for both of them usually appear approximately within 10 days of contracting the infection, for males. Since, it has been more than a month now and I have not experienced any symptoms, except for some rashes around the genital area, which I think is not a classical symptom of these STIs, I wanted to ask:
1. What are chances of contracting Gonorrhea/Chlamydia through unprotected blowjob, with no other type of sex involved?
2. Since these infections are usually treatable with antibiotics, I wanted to ask that what happens if these infections remain untreated for around 6 months or a year? Are these infections treatable a year after contracting them?
3. Considering that no other specific disease is present, can a CBC or urinalysis somehow indicate the presence of these infections?
I am a man, and received condomless oral sex from a transexual that I met on the internet. While she did so, I performed analingus on her. My lips were chapped at the time. The entire experience only lasted a few minutes. However, as I was leaving, I met another man coming into her apartment.
I was freaked out by this experience and went to the hospital the next day to receive nPEP. My doctor advised against it, but said that I could still receive it, and today is the end of my 72 hour window. I'm still very worried; can you advise me? Should I start PEP?
Thank you in advance for your support. This morning I had sex with a girl I've been dating for 2 weeks and the condom broke. She did an HIV test on Apr 20 resulting negative.
I already went to the hospital and consulted a doctor which first suggested to do the PEP (the girl had many partners before) and then recommended to just get her to test today. The doctor said if she's negative today there's no need for me to do the PEP as with 2 negative tests in a month the risk of being infected would be very very low (0.001%) even in the case she had sex with other partners while she was dating with me.
I got tested today and I'm HIV negative and I'm taking her to test in 3 hours. If she's negative I won't take the PEP pills. If she's positive I will. What do you guys think about this?
I had an exposure 6 times on two consective days. Unprotected virginal sex. I took PEP for 28 days which i started within 72hours. I took HIV duo test at 14 weeks 1 day post PEP (18 weeks 2 days post exposure) which came out non reactive (0.02). I also took Hepatitis C rapid antibody test at 122 days post exposure and it was negative. The problem is that i have been having oral thrush for almost 3 months now. Can i rely on my results or should i wait for six months in case of delayed seroconversion? Is my hepatitis C result also conclusive? Am really scared please help. By the way the baseline HIV antibody test for both me and the lady i had sex with was negative but to rule out possibility of window period i took PEP.
I have a bit of anxiety and really need to know what my odds are. I have been doing everything in my life to ensure I maintain my status negative so here are the details
I started prep on the 18th of March 2019 and I had sex with someone that was HIV positive undetectable on the 30th of March 2019. I know he is Undetectable because he was kind enough to take the effort in showing me his most recent results that were on 19th Of march 2019 he showed me the medication he takes and he confessed to me that he had been positive for 6 years and that he has mainted a viral load less than 20 copies. I am also on prep and have taken it the same time every day up to this point I even took an extra one after I found all this out. Yesterday. I was the top and sex wasn't out of the Norm and I am certain of his undetectable status and saw the medication that he takes. He even sent me a copy of those results from the lab. What is my level of risk? If someone whom is hiv positive undetectable with a viral load of less than 20 copies, has unprotected anal sex with someone who is HIV negative and has been taking prep for 2 weeks?
Please help me ease my anxiety, I refrained from treating him badly because he is a kind person and plus he looks really healthy! not only did he show me the proof but it is evident from how he looks! I would defiantly consider taking things farther with him but I need the facts and the education of what my risk will be even under these; what I consider, to be optimal circumstances. where he and I have open communication and he is being forthcoming and honest.
Do these factors put me at risk for getting HIV?
I had sexual intercourse with sex worker which I think might be HIV positive, We had vaginal intercourse with condom but my concern is that I had made cut on the base of the penis just one and half hour before the sex which bled for half a minute and then stopped bleeding.During the vaginal intercourse this cut was not covered by the condom and was exposed to the vaginal fluid.
What is the risk of transmission through this non bleeding cut???
Symptoms that I am experiencing are:
On the second day of the sex I had a high fever along with slight headache and chronic fatigue which lasted for one and half week. On the beginning of the second week I am suffering from white tongue and slight sore throat along with mouth ulcers but no other symptoms except tiredness.I am feeling thirsty more than usual and moreover I wake up at night to drink water due to thirst.I am feeling really stressed and anxious.
Do my symptom are related to HIV.
I am here for support as I have never been in a relationship or know of any one that has had HIV. I know that I love this person. But I don't want to go though the relationship with all these Questions. First about me that I have never been diagnosed with anything and have only had two sexual partners my whole life.
The Woman that I meet is from Colombia and she was diagnosed with HIV back in 2013. Since then has been "undetectable" for 3-4 years. What I know is that she has been on medicine since the start (2013) and has been told that she is able to have children (by Columbia doctors) (2019). She has had unprotected sex with her ex-partner and there was never contagion.
This will sound stupid and I know, I am sure someone else has ask this.
But is there any risk for me being with a undetectable HIV partner?
Eating food together (sharing),
Contact between broken skin (wounds)
safe vaginal or anal sex or Unprotected Sex
If we do go ahead with relationship How often should I get tested?
Is there any help for traveler coming to Vancouver?
Today I met a guy online and we agreed we would meet for sex (I'm also male) Even before meeting, I inisted that we would be using condoms. At some point, after we touched and kissed, he sat on me, and rubbed my penis between his buttcheeks. I told him again, if he wanted to go ahead, that we would need a condom. He told me he was just teasing, and that there would be no actual penetration. Yet at some point I did feel my penis head stretching his anus, maybe even penetrating him with just the head, I can't be sure. I asked him to stop immediately and he did.
Later on, he was moving his penis near my anus, he was saying again : "I'm just teasing, I'm not penetrating". Yet at some point I definitely felt his penis head stretching my anus. That's when I said : "Ok, this is too much, either put on a condom or go". He finally put on the condom.
I'd like to know what risk there is for HIV transmission in these circumstances. I'd also like to know if such an exposure would warrant PEP.
Also, as a side note, I would like to mention how I'm sick and tired that even though I am always extremely clear about wanting to have protected sex, guys often seem to try, at some point, either to penetrate me without a condom or have me penetrate them without a condom. It's like the pressure of minimizing transmission risks always fall on my shoulders only, and I have to be careful not to have too much fun, because I need to stay alert in case the guy I'm with tries doing something to me without protection. I find this to be an utter lack of respect.
Thank you for your time.
I had unprotected sex with a girl i met but i went for HIV testing with her after sex and we were both negative. Even though we were both negative i took PEP. i also believed her when she told me she last had sex months before that and it was safe sex because she did not hesitate to go for HIV testing. after PEP i took an HIV test 9 days after PEP and it was negative. My worry is that is it possible for the results to change since the guidlines say its suppose to be 3 weeks, 6 weeks and 3 months after PEP? if PEP did not work can the results show positive immediately after PEP? Am really getting worried. please help
i am sick and worried because i have developed some flu and throat infection and was given some antibiotic. later on i developed some fungal infection in the mouth and i read somewhere and it said its an early symptom of HIV. i don't know if its because of antibiotics or not. i contacted that girl again so that we go for HIV testing and we agreed that i pay her if she is negative since am troubling her which also gives me comfort because she is sure she is still negative. what can be the cause of my infection? am i sick?
