Thank you for all of these useful information in regards of STDs. I have a query that is eating me alive. I am hypochondriac, so you can imagine how stressful it is. I had one night stand with a man with unknown status. We were kissing passionately for about 20-30 seconds, and I noticed that he had bleeding gums. We stopped the kissing and I spit on the tissue to check if I have it as well, luckily I did not have it at that very moment. Right after that I examine my mouth and gums and I noticed that my gums started to bleed as well - not excessive amount, just around one teeth, that I rinsed and bleeding disappeared right away. We did not kiss any more, however I received rim job after that (at the time of rimming, his gums were not bleeding any more). I would really appreciate If you can tell how big this risk of transmission is. Thank you a lot for your time and effort to help us.
Hello, I have done something I never thought I would do and gave oral sex to another gentleman. He swears he is clean and has nothing that could have been transmitted to me, but this is sort of his lifestyle, not mine ever again. Too worrisome to let it lay. I am married, shame on me I know. My wife is out of town and comes back this weekend. I gave him oral sex for about 3-5 minutes it seemed and then freaked out and left. He never ejaculated. Now I am killing myself inside with guilt that I could have gotten the HIV virus and don't want to give it to my wife. Words of wisdom and advise?
I was on the bottom and other guy was playing and rubbing his penis on my anus, my anus was lubed with spit and had lot of his pre-cum around my anus. I am extremely worried about this incident, we stopped immediately after him inserting his penis tip into me twice.
Please let me know what should i do ? PEP warranted ?
He said he is safe HIV neg. but i don't if i should trust.
extremely worried, please help! Thanks
Yesterday I had unprotected sex with lady I met in the club, next day I asked her to come with me to do HIV test 4th generation, The her result was negative.
I’m still worried, Do I need to do test after one month?
Thank you for your support and advice.
Had unprotected sex got tested 4 times.
On 29th unclear result
On 44th negative
On 91th negative
And on 189th negative
The thing is that i really doubt all the 3 negative tests because of the unclear test result. How come i tested unclear and then became negative? Is it false negative? Have you seen a case of someone taking more than 6 months to detect hiv antibodies? Do i need more testing?
i had an unprotected anal sex with a gay ( me insertive partner) whose status unkown . i had a p24 antigen antibody test negative at 39 days and 67 days after exposure .Is my result conclusive or i need to retest again at 84 days .Please advice
m4m interaction, i had deep kissing with lots of tongue exposure and he rimmed my ass for a while and place his cock on my anus (entry way) i was clenching my anal muscles so that no penetration could take place. i never bottomed and don't know how a cock feels when having anal intercourse. I am just worried that if this situation puts me at any risk ? will i know if he inserted his penis head in me ? Even though i was preventing him from doing so by not relaxing my anus. i am extremely worried. i travel a lot and the only test i can have is after 4 weeks and then i travel again. will this 4 weeks test which i will perform next month after this exposure due to time constraints, will it be a good indication of my status ? based on my exposures (it will be a 4th generation test). i know you guys says 6 weeks is conclusive but in my case ? Thank you for this great service.
I had one unprotected vaginal sexual exposure with a girl. Next day after exposure, we went to a clinic to test. I knew my results won't be accurate but I just wanted to know her HIV status. Clinicians used Alere Determine HIV1/2 Ag/Ab test and she was negative. I also tested with Alere after 50 days and with 4th generation lab test after 60 days. Both were negative.
What I'm worried is, she said she had relationships with African people nearly 2-3 years ago. I know that some African people has HIV-2 type of virus, different than HIV-1. I wonder if she was HIV-2 positive, does this means a prolonged window period? Basically, does HIV-2 has different window period than HIV-1? I searched some articles but I couldn't find exact reports. Alere Determine doesn't have any HIV-2 spesific antigen detection so there needs to be established HIV-2 infection to detect antibodies. But I do not know what is the maximum window period to establish HIV-2 antibodies. I'd be so glad If you can help me.
Please help, I don’t know where to turn to next , getting hopeless. So this may be a little long. So almost 2 years ago I started dating a guy, I was in perfect health. After I started dating him, I started having burning when peeing that was the first symptom. Then muscle twitching , then severe Pelvic pain, follow by weak legs for a short time , eye pain, ear pain, loose stool for a short period of time, the since of being unwell. The muscle twitching seem to spread all over my body, my head, my hands, my arms everywhere you can think of. I had a sore throat at one point of time, heart palpations, tingling in feet and numbness in hands when I wake I have to shake it off . I also was having jerks , in my legs while awoke or when I’m on my way to sleep . I also had a few small rashes nothing too crazy
My boyfriend at the time told me his mom died from HIV but he was negative , which I thought he was as well cause we got tested together. Test was indeed negative. However , after I started to put all of this together, there was a common denominator after me getting sick and it was him. I also started to notice he was having muscle twitching just like I and or the same symptoms .
On top of this , I was tested for a year straight after possible exposure, all negative . After a year went to get a hiv test done again, antigen was weakly positive and the antibody was negative so I was asked to retest because of possible false positive.
Went back and had extensive blood work done, I repeated the same test, had a viral load test done and a pcr. All negative . It has been a year exactly since the ‘ false positive ‘ and I have been tested on 4 different occasions after that all negative , in fact all test are negative besides hsv 1
I have seen an infectious disease doctor for the hiv testing before, I have seen a allergy/immune doctor , a neurologist who didn’t do much testing. No one seems to find anything .
I’m concerned that I have a special strain, or something that’s not picking up.
I am in a new relationship, due to all the negative testing I have been having unprotected sex and I fear him ever having anything from me .
Would do you recommend?
Thanks for taking the time to look at this question.
I honestly have a fear of HIV, I'm honestly scared that I'll get it and its always on my mind. I'm gay and I recently broke up with my ex partner over 2 months ago. The last time we had sex was about 9 weeks ago, and yes we didn't wear protection. I found out that he had raw sex with someone else while we were together in the last two weeks that we were together. Fortunately we know that person he had sex with and they both say they are negative and my ex is now on prep.
But I am still paranoid as I have chronic fatigue and most of the symptoms are similar to HIV and its playing on my mind and affecting me every day.
I had a little over a month check and it was negative, I just had a 9 week test and this was also negative. What are the chances say one of them did have HIV that my 9 week negative result could still come up positive at the 12 week mark? I can't keep going on like this :(
