hi. i had a very short (less than 30 seconds) vaginal sex with a female sex worker. i did instant hiv test after 14 weeks and the result was negative. As i'm so stressed, i'm wondering if i need to repeat the test again or it's conclusive already?
this is my 3rd time positing to you but no reply at all. I am totally broken due to fear and anxiety of hiv please help me to sort out this.
I must admit that after an unprotected brief anal intercourse a second foolish mistake to do a test alere determine at home while i was not totally aware of the procedure. I did and a grey control line and a faint grey line appear after few minutes on the test strip i was shocked and assumed that my life has been ended up. after reading much articles and who website i came to know that this might be an invalid test as what i saw was a shadow and alere determine requires coloured line for reactive as many other experienced the same and WHO also stated in their practice module 9. since then i repeated test as follows
High top antibody rapid home test (non reactive at 7.5 week)
Alere determine done by me at 8.5 and 9 week non reactive
Since i know i should confirm my result i went to a health care provider in my area and tested with SD Bioline hiv 3.0 test non reactive at 10 week.
I tested again by myself at 13 week using alere determine hiv 1/2 nonreactive
at 15 week i went to a local community health care centre where they tested me with hiv antibody test rapid test non reactive
at 20 week i went to the same health care centre for the retest and they test me with alere hiv combo twice and reassure me that i am free from hiv.
Please help me to sort out my anxiety. i shall be thankfull
I am a Canadian working in Beijing. On june 24, 2018, I ordered an outcall services, and the girl gave me an oral sex for a short while followed by protected vaginal sex (she sat on me). I think the condom did not break (my "stuff" was not leaking out, so I assume it was intact) but the condom used was not any international brand that I am familiar with.
On Agust 24 2018, I found a massage parlor and tried the service. First, it was just unprotected oral sex. And somehow I thought this girl was safe, and decide to do unprotected oral sex + protected vaginal (she sat on me) on August 29.
During September, I visited the massage parlor for another two times. On September 7th, I did unprotected oral sex only. On September 30, I did unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex (I inserted into her).
At first, I was not so worry about these encounters as I had used condom for all of the vaginal sexes, and I did not experience any symptom (no diarrhea lasting for more than a day, no rash, no fever, no sore throat etc;). Additionally, for all the vaginal sexes I couldn't get very hard and ejaculate after 20-30 seconds or even shorter. The outcall girl's boss told me that the girl is clean and the massage girl told me that she got check regularly.
Recently I read a news about the number of HIV paitent in China that has increased rapidly during the third quarter, which made me start to worry and led me to here. Now I am worrying about the condoms I used were not effective as they are some unknown chineses brand brand and somehow these encounters could accumulate (it sounds super stupid).
My current concerns are 1)the condom could be fake and it did not work though it covered my penis 2) the condom could have little hole that vaginal fluid can come through. Can you tell me what are the chance of getting hiv if my concerns were real.
I've already booked a body check this weekend, but start having imagination of getting a positive report back. I understand that you get questions like this a lot, and I apologise. I just want have some professional opinions regarding the chance of having negative report so that I can wait for my report more peacefully.
A worry paranoid
About a 3 months ago I had unprotected sex with several partners. Also oral sex, ı both received and gave. I did not know their STD or HIV status. Two weeks ago I had something like blister, papilla or pimple showed up my vagina and increased it was painful at the beginning. I've seen gynocologist and she told me I don't have any warts or herpes with physical examination. I am still waiting for pap smear test results. However, a week ago I had swollen lymph nodes on my throat. And later my gums started to swollen. Now I have problems with my gingival and worried about gingivities. I had open sores on my mouth, cheeks when I had oral sex. I am so worried abput all STD's or HIV. I already tested and waiting for the results. But these symptoms are raising every day and I am really worried.
Should I really worry about the hiv possibility, and do these symptoms look like hiv?
Thank you so much for your answer, I appreciate it very much.
i recently got into a relationship with a lady i did not know of her HIV status. we eventually had an vaginal sex (with no condom). i was very worried though she told me not to that she was sure that she is negative. but out of fear, i went to my clinic and i was given PEP treatment at about 40 hrs post exposure.
the relationship continued and we had another sex 6 days after i started PEP. i was not a brief sex at all and i ended up having some injury on my penis as a result of the activity.
I almost discontinued the PEP, but asked her to just do the HIV test, and it came out positive. i was shocked!!!!!
i have not had any rashes, fever, sore throat and all that except jaundice, nausea and severe weakness once i take the drug.
i experienced an unexplained burning sensation, needle like pricks and colicky pain in and on my penis and my scrotum. sometimes i feel like something wants to come out but nothing comes out of my penis. this started about two weeks after exposure. but no discharge nor sore nor rash around my perineum nor inguinal area.
all STI screening i did were negative and i had to take treatment for STI just in case ( this was my decision).
i have completed my pep and got tested again at day 33 post exposure and day 30 on pep and im still negative.
i was placed on LAMIVUDINE AND TENOFOVIR + ATAZANAVIR AND RITONAVIR.
my questions are
1) will my second exposure limit the efficacy of PEP?
2) should i have extended my PEP to 6 more days.?
3) are those symptoms i had possibly due to seroconversion?
4) is my current negative result encouraging?
thanks a lot for your anticipated prompt response. i am honestly scared.
also, i just got an antibody test approximately 2 months post pep and 3 months post exposure. it came negative. i don not know what to make out of this as my symptoms still persist. my palms and sore of my feet are peeling of now. my bones ache and i am tired like my soul is out of my body. i need help please
I am nervous because I had oral sex with a man who was undetected for 30 years but he did not tell me until after it happened. He performed it on my penis and I only did it oral to his anus. We had a heavy make out session and he came on his body, but some of it got on me and I wiped it off with a towel. A week later I have some chest pain and my tongue is white with some bumps on the back of the tongue. Is it too late for prep?! What can I do?
Good day dears,
First of all, let me say that I'm slowly dying since I gave oral sex to another gay guy 3 months ago.
In the meantime, I've been constantly reading and exploring about my possible HIV exposure.
At the moment of the exposure, no blood noticed in my mouth, only odor coming from my wisdom crowns. I have crowns all aroung the mouth, excluding the front teeth (up and down).
I may have gingivitis, which isn't something blood-related, only one spot of gingiva looks reddish.
Okay, I don't know what to say, since I'm so anxious I can't breath. I want to go get tested but I'm so scared, since I experienced sore throat with no fever (maybe 37.2 Celsius one day) but I was constantly feeling hot, thinking this is ARS related. I was so scared, searching for symptoms and maybe anxiety made them show up.
There was not ejaculation in my mouth, but there must have been pre-ejaculation...
I'm constantly reading your forum and I must say that you all are giving a lot of good informations, this is a perfect place to ask! Thank YOU all !
So... Is gingivitis considered an open wound? Gingiva bleeding but not too much? Or what are you talking about is a big, open, gaping wound inside the mouth for a chance of transmition? I'm confused, scared to death. I can't sleep, eat, talk... My life became a big, deep, dark hole.
Okay diving into the main part i had a unprotected sex with a girl...20 days ago.later i got so worried about hiv so i asked her if she had a past she told she always had protected sex and she told she had sex with a guy 4 days ago prior to me. I was told hiv transmission would be high in acute stage of infection. So my question if she was lying about the protected sex thing. Would she still transmit the virus at higher rate (because it has been just 4 days she might have got the virus) and she was so kind that she got herself tested (cmia methord which dignoses both ag and ab) on 19th day after she had sex with the other guy and result was negative i have done my dna proviral after 14 days of exposure and the result came negative .
13 days ago I had a sexual intercourse (vaginal) with a sex worker lady. She sat on on my penis about 5-10 second and penetrated 2-3 times. Then I immediately pulled out myself and used a condom. 36-hours later I started to feel something like influenza type of symptoms (cough, sneeze, fever etc.). 3-4 days later I also started to feel some numbness on the right side of my body (hand, arm, leg). And finally in last 1 week I have been feeling some surfing & hopping pains at my joints. Based on this given explaination how would you evaluate the risk of being infected with HIV for me? Can these symptoms be the probable signs of HIV at my body? Thanks for your time & support in advance. Regards.
I had a high-risk exposure in which the condom was disrupted in vaginal sex. The girl that I related was at the end of menstruation, I happen to have seen no visible blood on my penis. When I realized that I had broken I took it off and immediately went to wash. After 10 days of the act I began to feel symptoms that until the present date permance. The symptoms were: oral ulcers, rash, pharyngitis, shivering, body aches and pains, lack of appetite, white tongue, fungus on rough nails, peeling of hands and feet. Over the course of three and a half months I've been testing myself with Elisa 4th G and PCR-RNA at 30, 60 and 80 days, all of these negatives. The last test was an Elisa in 15 weeks. Should I still be concerned about HIV, and still have symptoms such as chills and white tongue?
