Annalingus HIV concern

Hi,

I am a male who performed annalingus (licked anus for a vert short time) and she gave me a blow job (i wore a condom)

I don't know if she has HIV or any diseases.

Please guide what my risk is.

Hi there, and thanks a lot for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline for you HIV/AIDS related health information.

It sounds like you are concerned about your risk of HIV transmission from performing anilingus and receiving oral sex.

Anilingus and Receiving Oral sex are considered a Negligible Risk activities. This means that they present a potential for HIV transmission because they do involve the exchange of body fluids. However, there has never been a confirmed report.

  • A condom acts as a barrier to HIV transmission.

  • HIV needs a human host to survive. Once HIV is outside of the body and exposed to oxygen it can no longer transmit.

  • Saliva has an enzyme that inhibits the transmission of HIV.

  • HIV needs direct access to your bloodstream in order to transmit. There was no direct access to your bloodstream.
