I have been circumcised 3 months back. I went to this massage place and at the end she gave a hand relief, later I noticed there is an extra skin which got torn and small blood has come out. The lady also has small cut on her hand, Two weeks later I am experiencing Fatigue, Fever, Swollen nodes(pain comes and goes). I have tested -ve at 18 day mark, but my symptoms have been there for 2 weeks now. I am scared to death now.. I am really worried, I feel like killing myself... Please advise am I at a greater risk because I am circumcised and the skin which tore was under pennis glan ?
Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from the question you were asking about your risk of HIV acquisition from the contact between a small cut and the torn skin on your penis.
Here at AIDS Vancouver, we consider non-insertive masturbation to be a No Risk act (transmission of HIV is not possible with the given scenario. (No exchange of bodily fluids)). Yet, due to the torn skin on your penis (where there was a presence of blood) and the possible contact you had with a small cut during non-insertive masturbation does satisfy our Transmission Equation. Although the person you had contact with had a small cut on their hand, your level of risk is more likely dependant on how recently the cut was made, how deep it was, and if there was a presence of fresh blood.
For this reason, we consider this scenario to be of Low Risk: (Evidence of transmission occurs through these activities when certain conditions are met).
It is important to note that while some of the general symptoms of HIV seroconversion are compatible with your symptoms (ie: fatigue, swollen nodes, fever), it is nearly impossible to attribute any/all of the symptoms you are experiencing directly to HIV acquisition without adequate HIV testing confirmation.
Recommendation: Please refer to Physician for an HIV test.
All the best,
