thanks for your time
I wore my friend's earing who is HIV positive, but she wore it 2 weeks before I use it, befor wearing it I rinse it with tap water, I freaking out about HIV,
do I need testing?
Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from your question, you were asking about transmission of HIV through sharing earrings with a friend who is HIV positive. From the information given, this scenario is determined to be NO RISK (transmission of HIV is not possible in the given scenario).
The scenario mentioned above does not meet the three components of the transmission equation. Refer to the transmission equation below for the components it does not satisfy.
BODY FLUIDS · blood (including menstrual blood) · semen · pre-cum · rectal secretions · vaginal fluids · breast milk + ACTIVITY · unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse · sharing needles · mother to child + DIRECT ACCESS TO BLOODSTREAM · vagina · anus · urethra in the penis · open cuts and sores (in theory) · other mucosal membranes · points of needle injection
It does not satisfy equation because there is no exchange of bodily fluids, a no risk activity and no direct access to the bloodsteam. A HIV test is not necessary in this scenario.
