when taking an at home HIV test, if you have a line across the C and a faint line across the T section...is it possible that it's a false positive?
Hello, and thank you for reaching out to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.
Here at AIDS Vancouver we are volunteers that possess knowledge of HIV, but do not have the same credentials that a medical professional may have. Furthermore, while we do encourage regular HIV testing as it is a great way to stay up-to-date on your current status, we do not promote taking an HIV test at home. In this situation, it may be best to leave the testing with medical professionals as it will greatly reduce the likelihood of a false negative HIV test result.
