Question and Clarification-hiv

Hi Moderators.
I have questions and some concerns,pls answer.

1.UniStik 3 lancet used in Testing HIV Clinic in USA, I assume they are single use and cannot be re used on any other person. If re used what are chances getting HIV transmitted in this way.
2.I tried using latex based Condoms during Sex with my Wife partner.Is it safe to use during sex or there is risk of hiv transmission in it.
3.I am HIV negative after testing 7 months since the incident happened from last year November. My Wife is negative,I want move ahead with life but still thinking what if and above cases.

Hello and thanks for reaching out to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

It seems you are concerned that you might have HIV even though you tested negative 7 months after an exposure. We are glad to provide some information.

For you first question on Unistik 3 Lancet, we do not comment on specific products. Your doctor would be in the best position to provide information on this. However we do not perceive any situation where a clinic would reuse any needle especially if it is supposed to be used once. Clinicians are aware on risks of infections that are caused by this and ensure that cross contamination does not occur.

All condoms are manufactured to provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases. We do not comment on particular products but advice that you check the expiry date and ensure the package has not been compromised.

If you have been tested 7 months after an exposure and the results came back as HIV negative then you are HIV free. You can read additional information on prevention from CATIE website
