Scared to death performed unprotected cunnilingus

Question:

Hello Doctor,

I know this question may look repetitive.
But I could not resist asking this question.

2 weeks ago, I had a protected intercourse with an Amsterdam window sex worker ( unknown HIV status ).
I also licked her vagina for 3-5 minutes and that was without protection.

My oral health was good at that point of time.
Also she tasted just like water, So I don't think she had any disease or was on her periods.

But now I am really scared looking at the different webpages.
Some pages say it is not possible, some says it has around 3% chances or so.
My question is what are my odds of being hit with HIV :(
Also, are there really some documented cases where HIV is being transmitted to the one performing cunnilingus?

Only good thing is that I have not felt any of the symptoms but I have heard some people may not even feel it.
I am about to get married in another 5 months :'( :(
I know I should have never done this.
I am really repenting my act, and I feel that my life is ruined :(

Please help

Answer:

Hello and thanks for reaching out to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

It sounds like you are concerned about your risk of HIV transmission after giving unprotected oral sex.

Giving Oral sex is considered a Low Risk activity. This means that the practices assigned to this risk level present a potential for HIV transmission because they involve an exchange of body fluids. There have been a few reports of infection attributed to these activities (usually under certain identifiable conditions).

Why Low Risk?

  • Saliva has an enzyme that inhibits the transmission of HIV.

I would encourage you to check out the following resources for more information about HIV:
