test at 6 month

Question:

test at 6 month hiv 1 & 2, 3 times.and all results are negative

Answer:

Hello and thank you for reaching out to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

It sounds like you have some concerns in regard to your HIV tests.

It is great that you pursued HIV testing! Here at AIDS Vancouver, we recommend routine testing as it is a great way for one to stay up to date on their current HIV status. From what you have told me, you pursued three different HIV tests at the 6-month mark, which produced negative results. When it comes to HIV testing, all tests are considered conclusive at 3-months post exposure as long as one were not to engage in further HIV risk activity. Thus, there is no need to pursue any further HIV testing.
