I know that HIV cannot be transmitted through handshakes. But does that mean that even though both of us have slightly bleeding cuts (still raw) and it touched/pressed against each other while we high 5/had a handshake, there is still no risk of HIV transmission? Please note the cuts we have maybe slightly bleeding. Since there maybe exchange of blood taking. I know it's negligible risk, but doesn't negligible risk mean that "so far there isn't any cases of HIV happening in this manner". But doesn't it actually mean that it hasn't taken place yet, so it may in future? I am confused and worried. Some sites I visit online says I am at risk so I am very worried and panicking that I maybe infected.
Hello there, I shared a nose drop with someone that had a stuffy and running nose and that I barely knew.
Here are my 4 questions :
- I'm not sure if she had small amounts of blood in her nose but I know she had a lot of snot (nasal secretions). So if the small tube she put in her nose came into contact with her snot and perhaps also came into contact with small amounts of her blood and I used the same small tube afterwards, can I get infected with HIV?(if she had HIV).
- Can HIV enter the body the via the nostrils?
- Before I used the same nose drop she used, she put the small tube back in the nose drop solution. Would the nose drop solution kill the HIV infected snot and blood?
- I already got tested a month ago for some STD’s including HIV after having sex with a condom with someone 5 months ago, all the results came back negative, thank God!
But should I get tested again? (for this incident specifically)
Please help me, I’m really anxious. And thanks in advance for answering my question.
Hi and thank you very much for your awesome service..
I just found out my new boyfriend has been very reckless before and he has had many symptoms of HIV and has never been tested..I have never had sex with him but we recently got close to it and we did naked grinding..he never inserted his penis in and ejaculated on my tummy no where near vagina but I'm worried that I might have been infected with hiv from heavy grinding...I had shaved my genital area in the morning and this happened at night..is grinding a risk and should I get tested? if say I cut my self in the morning on my vulva, would that still be a "new" cut for hiv to enter?
my symptoms : 2-3 weeks from the incident I saw like 6 bumps on my left hand but they looked like mosquito bites and went away in less than a week...I then got really stressed and started taking zoloft which I never had before and I suddenly felt weird on my neck lymphnodes and and jaw and my tempreture started rising..the symptoms went away as I stopped the medication and started to calm my self down...I'm not sure if these are symptoms of HIV or zoloft sight affects
please help me my life is a living hell right now.
Hello. I live in India & about 1 month back I went to a massage parlor where the girl after giving me massage with oil gave me a handjob. While giving me handjob with one hand she pushed her one well oiled finger of other hand in my anus & vigorously kept on stroking it till I came. Although I did not feel any pain but after this I became scared and checked her finger too which she had put in my hole. There was no visible cut but her nails were long. After about three weeks after the incident i.e. about a week back I noticed a skin rash in my left underarm about 5” below my armpit. It was a very dry skin patch about 1”x1” with no pain or itching. I washed it thoroughly & the dry skin flakes came out leaving a reddish brown skin discolouration behind which exists till date and the skin is no more dry. I experienced no other symptoms .
Can this dry skin rash be symptomatic of HIV infection & can this kind of exposure lead to HIV. Should I get tested ? Please answer my query as I am extremely worried and going nuts..
A woman used her fingers and hands to deeply stimulate her genitals, then she liberally applied her secretion covered hands/ fingers to my penis, stimulating my penis tip as well.
I have seen from various responses that the virus dies/ becomes inactive and unable to infect once out of the body and exposed to air, however as the contact was fairly immediate, I'm very worried that her fingers may have rubbed on/into my urethra. I stress, it was a very strong handjob and involved the tip of my head.
Also, if she had a recent cut on her hand, would this be considered a risk due to blood possibly coming into contact with my urethra?
I plan on testing 6 weeks with a DUO and again on 12 weeks to be on the safe side.
I apologise if I'm asking this question for the billionth time, I'm just very anxious as I make it my goal to practice safe sex and this was the first time I've experienced something like this.
Hello there, last week I shared a nose drop with a friend ( from whom I don't know nothing about his HIV status). His nose was running and I'm not sure if he had blood in his nose. After he used the nose drop he put the small tube ( the small tube tube that went into his nose and that came into contact with his nasal secretions and possibly his blood) back in the nose drop container. So maybe if he had HIV, his HIV infected nasal secretions and possibly blood would have dissolved in the nose drop solution. Before I used the nose drop I didn't check if there was any blood on the small tube. So here are my questions : 1) Can I contract HIV from this incident? 2) If my friend was HIV positive, would his HIV infected nasal secretions or blood die or be inactivated in the nose drop solution? 3) Can HIV nasal secretions or blood even be transmitted to another person if it enters that persons nose/nostrils? Has this even happend before?
Thank you for answering my inquiries.I just quoted my questions earlier and you mentioned that there might be exchanged on semen during penis to penis rubbing.I just want to further mentioned that the rubbing happened for just a couple of minutes and I do NOT think that one of us was even close to ejaculations or producing pre-cum at that point. Its probably just shaft to shaft contact with tip of the penis touching for split seconds. We did not ejaculate during the genital rubbing but only after few minutes of mutual masturbation. Is exchange of body fluids still possible in this situation and what sort of body fluids if any ? Is this still negligible risk?
Thank you very much
"I am male and few months ago I have an encounter with another male who has unknown HIV status. The encounter consisted strictly of few minutes of mouth kissing then he sucked my nipples. This was followed by him moving on top of me with our penises rubbing together for probably a couple of minutes, then this ended with him giving me hand jobs to ejaculations and I did the same to him with hand jobs to ejaculations. I then immediately washed my hands. No oral sex or anal sex happened and I did not saw any visible gums sores during kissing. Is there some sort of risk in this situation in case he is HIV positive and does this situation warrant any testing? His status is unknown"
So what happened was that I went for a function and we had to play games where we had to interlock hands. I has a cut on my thumb and when my partner, whom I didn't know, he also had a cut. I realize when he hold my hand, his cut rested on the area where my cut is. I didn't check to see if my cut was bleeding. But I couldn't check if both of our cuts are bleeding. So in the case if both of our cuts are bleeding slightly, and they touched each other, is there any risk of HIV?

Hello, love your work all the way over here in Australia. Recently I had an encounter with a gay male (I am also a gay male). I believe some of his cum landed on my hand where dry skin came off my hand and I also felt his cum land on my penis (I am not exactly sure if his cum landed directly on my dry skin wound (which was a day old at the time and did not bleed). I am worried that it may have exposed me to HIV (he claims he is HIV negative). Can you help?
