Question: 

Where in Vancouver can I get a PCR RNA test for HIV?

The PCR RNA test is not regularly available in Vancouver and unfortunately cannot be requested. This test is used by Canadian Blood Services to screen all blood and organ donations.
 
A similar test available, in that it checks for the viral RNA is the NAAT (pooled) RNA test or "Early Test". This test can be taken 10-12 days post exposure and is 90% accurate. At 6 weeks it is 95-98% accurate and 99% accurate at 12 weeks but this is only available to men who have sex with men (MSM). If you are female and have had a high risk exposure (unprotected sex with someone who is known to be HIV+, you may be able to get a 4th Generation Test but again, this is not available upon request).
