Good day everyone. I just wanted to ask if I can take my test as conclusive.
Exposure: Oral Sex with a known HIV+ person. ( No cum inside my mouth but I have braces)
Test:
1st test was taken 4 weeks after the exposure
2nd test was taken 81 days after the exposure.
Please help
Thanks in advance.

Hello and thank you for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as a source for HIV/AIDS-related information.

Giving oral sex is a low risk activity for HIV transmission. This means that there is a potential for the exchange of body fluids, and therefore the potential for HIV transmission. However, there have only been a few reports of infection in this way.

You can take a test result at 81 days post-exposure to be conclusive. I would not recommend further testing.

I hope that I have addressed your questions. For further information, please visit our AIDS Vancouver website, or feel free to contact us again online or by phone (604-696-4666).

In health,

Natalie
