Hi,

I took the HIV (rapid) test 55 days after the exposure the result was negative.
I repeated again rapid test almost after 78 days and the result was again negative.
What I want to know is that during that period I used to antibiotic because i had some bacteria in urine.
Can this antibiotic impact in my result.

Hello and thank you for your question. We are happy to help!

Antibiotics do not impact HIV testing because the HIV tests look specifically for the presence of HIV or specific antigens/antibodies relating to the virus. Your test results are highly accurate at the 78 day mark.

Please let us know if you need any further clarification.

Best,

Caroline
