I had an exposure 2 months ago. I did full std tests with 4th gen hiv duo test wrfx at 10, 37; and 47 days. I got results of last back today. All negative. Is this enough to take as conclusively negative? I am so confused and worried. Thank you for any response. My depression has me feeling desperate and wanting to give up

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from the question, you were asking about the conclusiveness of a 4th Generation HIV Duo Test. Most HIV specialists consider this "DUO" test conclusive at 6 weeks. At 47 days, this would be considered conclusive. However, official HIV testing guidelines still recommend re-testing at 12 weeks for completely conclusive results. The accuracy of a 4th Generation HIV Duo Test is 99.9%. [1]

Recommendation: Refer to a physician for other health related questions.

Regards,
AIDS Vancouver Helpline/Online, Ashley
