Hi
Please help me with your advise
Is it possible to get infected either hiv or any other STI from a new sealed artifical vagina sex toy brought from a sex toy shop.
Will hiv survive on the inside of the toys if its used before nd not properly cleaned for a long time.
Having a throat irritation nd skin irritation on abdomen nd back without any rashes for a month is a sign of early hiv symptoms. Which i got after a month of using the sex toy.
I have not had any other sexual activty other than the usage of sex toy for a period of 3 month.

Hello and thank you for your inquiry.

You are wondering if it is possible that you acquired HIV from using a sex toy which you purchased new in a sealed package.

This situation is considered No Risk for transmission of HIV, meaning that HIV transmission is not possible.

Even if we entertain the highly unlikely possibility that the toy was previously used, not properly cleaned, repackaged and re-sealed, and then re-sold as new in a retail store, HIV would certainly not survive the amount of time it would take for this process to unfold. HIV does not survive long outside the human body (such as on surfaces), and it cannot reproduce outside a human host. (1)

Throat and skin irritation are symptoms which can have a wide variety of underlying causes, and cannot be attributed to HIV in the absence of a positive HIV test result.

Your are not at risk of HIV infection in the context of your use of this sex toy. If you are still concerned that you may be HIV positive, consider what sexual activities you engaged in previously (3 months ago), and whether HIV testing is indicated based on the risk level associated with these activities.

Recommendation: No need for HIV test with the scenario provided, refer to a physician for other health related questions
