Hi...
This is carl here. I recently received an blow job from an transgender with an condom. No intercourse and nothing. I am little bit scared if the condom had an infected blood or semen. So my question is there any chance of hiv transmission if the condom had any semen or infected blood by any chances and also does an hiv virus survives inside an condom by any chances...
Thanks in advance...

Hello and thank you for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as a source for HIV/AIDS-related information.

Receiving oral sex (with or without a condom) does not present a risk for HIV transmission and does not require HIV testing. This is because, although, in theory, there is a potential for the exchange of body fluids, there has never been a confirmed report of HIV being transmitted through this activity.

HIV cannot survive on an inanimate object such as a condom. This is because the virus dies upon exposure to oxygen and cannot survive outside of the human body.

I hope that I have addressed your concerns. Please feel free to contact us again should you have any further questions.

In health,

Natalie
