thanks for your help
I got my strange cd4 and cd7 report! I never asked for cd7!

35% of blood cells are lymphocytes
cd4 expressed on lymphocytes 40.8%
cd7 expressed on lymphocytes 40.2%
cd4/cd8 ratio= 1 ref ( normal 1 to 3.5 )
hiv1/2 antibodies negative for 48 times over 1 year
hiv antigen/antibody negative at 9.5 and 12 month of exposure.
Note: my cd4% was 42% at 6 months of exposure and negative HIV1/2 the same time.
I tested for hiv antigen/antibody at 12 months mark of exposure and was negative and my wife too negative.
what is it? what is cd7?
am i negative to hiv1/2?
is my wife negative to hiv1/2 after the negative result at 12 months of exposure?
what is cd7 for? please explain the result of the test. thanks a lot

Hello and thank you for using AIDS Vancouver as your source of information about HIV/AIDS issues.

I would like to begin by telling you that we are a highly trained team of volunteers that deals exclusively with HIV/AIDS related queries. Cd7 results are usually not included in the results of an HIV test. What I can tell you is that this gene which contains a transmembrane protein and is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. I encourage you to get further answers from your health care professional, What I can tell you is that the results of an HIV test that has been administered 12 months after the a risky experience is conclusive. The World Health Organization considers the results of an HIV test conclusive as early as 12 weeks after a risky experience, and many HIV specialists consider the results of an HIV test administered at 6 weeks a strong indication of an individual's status. Since your wife and you have both received negative results for your HIV tests, and your HIV tests were administered 12 months after your risky experience, your HIV test results are conclusive.

I trust I have answered your questions sufficiently. Feel free to write back to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline, or visit our website http://www.aidsvancouver.org for more information.

Sincerely,

Marta
