Hello, the other day I hooked up a someone with oral sex and he came on my stomach. I did not feel any sting like if a normal wound get in contact with any liquid. I cleaned up, and then I notice there were some small red cuts on my skin, but they were not bleeding. Is that a risk?

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from the question, you were asking about the risk level involved with the interaction between your open cut and your partners seminal fluid.
From the information given, this scenario is determined to be no risk (transmission of HIV is not possible in the given scenario). Superficial wounds such as the cuts you described to us are a possible point of entry for the virus. However, due to the seminal fluid's exposure to oxygen, we would determine this to be of no risk because any viral presence in the bodily fluid would have no potential of surviving the environment of your stomach.

No need for HIV test with the scenario provided, refer to a physician for other health related questions.

Regards,
AIDS Vancouver Helpline/Online, Cody
