There are any registred case of soroconversion after 84 days of exhibition? The window is 84 days, but the confidence is 99,9%. And if somebody is 0,01%?

Hello and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. That's a very good question, and I will be happy to answer that for you.

There has not been any documented cases of anyone showing a change in HIV status when tested after 84 days. Therefore, your test results after 84 days post-exposure are considered "conclusive". However, an HIV test, just like any other medical test, is never considered 100% accurate. This is mainly because there is always room for human error, for example the technician might mix up the blood vials of two different people, etc. Also, in some cases there might be a false positive due to other medical conditions, and so after a positive result, a Western Blot confirmatory test is performed.
