Yesterday I masturbated before cleaning my penis ,at that time I tried to clean the Mug which was in toilet while cleaning some amount of water from the mug scattered to my penis (not yet cleaned from masturbation my semen was there )

Also mug contained contaminated water

My doubt is will I get hiv ?

Also say incase if the public toilet water got scattered to my mastubated penis which was not cleaned from masturbation my semen was there. so in this scenario also is a chance for hiv infection?

Hi there, and thanks for your question to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

It seems you are questioning the risk of acquiring HIV through some activities. We'll provide you with some information here that will help clarify what is required for HIV to be transmitted.

From what we understand about what you wrote, you are questioning the risk of HIV being transmitted from either your own semen, or water from some source. In either case, this is a no risk situation. It does not sound like HIV is likely to be involved in this situation at all, but once it leaves the body (and is in toilet water, for example) it is not capable of re-entering the body.

For your information, here is what is required for HIV to be transmitted:
HIV TRANSMISSION EQUATION

BODY FLUID
+
ACTIVITY
+
DIRECT ACCESS TO BLOODSTREAM
---------- -------- ----------------------------
• blood (including menstrual) • unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse • vagina
• semen • sharing needles • anus
• pre-cum • mother to child (in specific cases) • urethra in the penis
• rectal secretions • open cuts and sores (in theory)
• vaginal fluids • other mucosal membranes
• breast milk • points of needle injection
As you can see in the chart, your activities do not involve a fluid, activity, or direct entry point, so are no risk. Check out our[ risk assessment chart ](http://helpline.aidsvancouver.org/question/risk-assessment-chart)for some information on the risk levels associated with various activities.

Thanks a lot for your question, we hope this clarifies things for you.
