Hello and thank you for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as a source of HIV/AIDS-related information.

A negative test result at 21 weeks post-exposure is conclusive and you do not need to test again. A 3rd generation ELISA test is accurate and reliable. All HIV testing is conclusive after 12 weeks.

For more information regarding testing and window periods, please feel free to check out the AIDS Vancouver website.

I hope that I have addressed your concerns. Please contact us again should you have any further questions.

In health,

Natalie
