I tested negative at four, six, eleven and sixteen months, the last one being June, 2013. I have been ill the whole time with many, many possible his symptoms. If I go for another rapid test, tomorrow, could it change to positive?

Hello There,

Thank you for posting on the AIDS Vancouver Helpline Forum.

There are no clinically identifiable symptoms associated with HIV. This means that some infected individuals may experience a strong flu-like illness, 2-4 weeks post exposure which disappears within 8-10 days. The number of tests you have taken are conclusive and you do not have HIV. No further testing is required. That said, although no further testing for this exposure, we do encourage all sexually active individuals be tested on a regular basis as part of your basic health management.

We trust we have addressed your concerns however, should further information be required, feel free to contact us again..

In good health,

Jonathan & Reeman, AIDS Vancouver Helpline Volunteers
