I was tested 5 times by my RE. Each test reacted. I was tested Twice in June, September, November,December. My Re also ran 3 viral load tests along with the normal panel and it was fine, under 40,000 I think. I know I am HIV negative but it clearly is not an anomaly. Something is going on and no one seems to care. What specific auto immune diseases can cause consistent false positives?

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from the question, you were asking about the possibility of false-positives from 5 reactive HIV tests and 3 viral load tests with under 40,000 as a result.

A positive HIV screening test is typically followed by a confirmatory test to confirm the initial positive result. It is extremely unlikely to receive false-positive results from both screening and confirmatory tests as well as from any follow-up tests conducted outside of the test window period (1). A viral load test measures the amount of HIV in your blood. An undetectable viral load is any value less than 40 copies of the HIV virus per milliliter of blood tested (2). Values around 40,000 are indicative of an active HIV infection.

Recommendation: Refer to Physician for an HIV test.
