Hi there and thanks for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as a source for HIV/AIDS related information.

The simple answer to your question is no, there has been no activity that could cause an HIV risk. There are basically two reasons for this. Firstly, HIV is an extremely weak virus and dies once exposed to air. Secondly, for an HIV risk to exist, certain HIV+ body fluids (anal/vaginal secretions, semen, blood) must come into direct contact with the bloodstream of an HIV- individual.

If you would like further information regarding HIV and its transmission, I would encourage you to visit an excellent website: http://www.thebody.com

I trust I have addressed your concerns however, should further information be required, feel free to contact us again.

In good health,

Jonathan, AIDS Vancouver Helpline Volunteer
