Hi,

I want to know what happens if some HIV + blood get into my finger nails then I scratch my lips and make it bleed.

Hello and thank you for your question.

There is no risk in the scenario you have described. This is because the HIV virus cannot live outside of the body without its human host. This means that any HIV+ blood on your fingernail would not be able to pass the virus onto you. Furthermore, a small scratch on your lips is not deep enough to allow the virus to enter your bloodstream. Superficial cuts bleed from the skin, but they are not deep enough to have opened your actual blood vessel.
