Thanks for the response to my question..i have some follow up question i dont know weather it will be responded back or not but i am dying out of depression.,
my exposure was i touched the condom inside tip with vagina fluid after fingering and rolled it up that is where the penis head or urethra should be...so my concern is the fluid was only exposed to air for few sec (approx10sec) and again it become intact with my penis head and since i ejuclate it insde the condom the virus might have.mixed up with my sperm and have infected me,am i being paranoid ????i just wanted to clearify this doubt becouse i read on google and some says that in order for a virus to deactivate the.fluid or semen or blood has to be dried?
ill be very glad with the respond back.
waiting in anticipation

Hello and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

We are happy to clarify the answer to your questions. We still do not see any risk present, since HIV cannot be passed on after body fluids are exposed to air, even if body fluids are not dry. We understand that there is a lot of misleading information about HIV transmission, and always suggest you discuss the information you read online with a healthcare professional. In North America, vaginal fluids (that have been exposed to the air) on a condom are not known to transmit HIV.

The following website from the Centre for Disease Control (Atlanta) clearly states that HIV cannot reproduce outside of the human body: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/transmission.html

We trust we have answered your questions and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

Sincerely,

Marta
