Hi, I would like to ask a follow-up question about the issue stated above.

The massage lady had also licked my cheek that with some pimples/acnes on it. Is it a HIV infection risk if there is blood in the saliva of the massage lady and the saliva come contacted with my pimples/acnes, which are burst and bleeding?
I am quite worry that is being considered as a HIV infection risk since there is blood present in saliva, and her blood will get into my bloodstream through the sores of pimples/acnes.

Thank you very much again for caring my worries.

Hello and thanks for your question. Based on the information you have given, there is no risk of transmission of HIV to you through saliva coming in contact with pimples, even if the pimples were open. Saliva contains enzymes which inhibit HIV, and the small abrasions of your pimples do not provide an entry for the virus.

I hope this answers your question. Please contact the Helpline again in the future if you have other HIV related questions.

All the best,

Marnelle
