I had received a hand job with person with unknown hiv status. He touched my penis tip with hand contains his pre-cum. My penis is without tip skin. Whats the chance for hiv transmission?

Hi there,

Thank you for your inquiry. From what we gather from your question you are asking about the risk associated with potentially coming in contact with pre-seminal fluid from a person with unknown status of HIV.

From the information given this scenario has been determined to be Negligible Risk (There is no evidence or no documented cases of transmission. However, there is a theoretical possibility of transmission under certain extenuating circumstances).

Theoretically, the scenario above meets two out of three components of the transmission equation (see below). For HIV transmission to be possible three components must be met.

HIV transmission requires the presence of HIV positive fluid (such as semen, vaginal fluid, pre-cum, rectal fluid, breastmilk, etc), coupled with a High, Low, or Negligible Risk activity, that provides the virus with direct access to the bloodstream.

It is unknown whether the fluid is HIV positive or not.  But in this case, there has been no High Risk activity such as unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse or sharing needles, therefore the HIV transmission equation is not fulfilled and the risk of transmission is Negligible

This scenario is considered to be Negligible Risk because while no penetration or direct access to the bloodstream occurred, you did come into contact with pre-seminal fluid. Factors such as whether or not the fluid was HIV positive, the presence of cuts and sores or duration and extent of contact are unknown.

For the situation above, it is recommended that you refer to a healthcare provider for HIV screening.
