Hello There,

Thank you for posting on the AIDS Vancouver Helpline Forum.

There is nothing to worry about in terms of HIV transmission. The reason for that is because HIV dies instantly upon exposure to air. Whatever fluid that was on the wall would not have active HIV for transmission. Secondly, HIV needs to have direct access to your bloodstream in order for transmission to occur. Skin is a great barrier for HIV transmission.

HIV is a human to human virus and not object to human.

Hope this Helps!

Please let us know if we can provide any more information. Or if you would like to call and speak to someone at the Helpline, you can do so anonymously and confidentially by calling 604-696-4666, Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm.
