Hi there, and thanks a lot for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline for your HIV/AIDS related health information. We're not sure, but it seems like you might be concerned about the possibility of HIV transmission occurring through the administration of an HIV test. We're happy to answer your question for you.

You should be assured that there is no risk of HIV being transmitted through HIV tests. The testing equipment is new each time it is used, so there is no chance that someone else's fluids may have been exposed to the test equipment. Consider that the person administering the test is a trained professional, and would not risk HIV transmission occurring during the administration of the test.

Thanks a lot for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline with your question. We hope this has answered it fully.
