Greetings,

First and foremost, we are not doctors but highly trained volunteers. I will however, do the best to answer your questions.

Your testing above is a great indication of your status, and it is not likely to change with a follow up test. The "combo" test that you received is considered by most HIV specialist to be conclusive at 6 weeks, further verifying your results. According to the World Health Organization, all results are considered completely conclusive at 3 months (12 weeks, 84 days) following an HIV test, so if you do have further concerns, retest at the 84 day mark and put this situation behind you.

Using a condom during intercourse is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your partner from the transmission of HIV and other STI's, and oral sex is considered a low to negligible risk of transmission, as it does not provide that airtight environment needed for the virus to survive. In addition, HIV is not found in saliva, nor does it transmit via saliva-actually saliva breaks down the virus.

Also, keep in mind that Commercial Sex Workers (CSW's) are more likely to engage in regular HIV/STI testing, more likely than the average person is, as their line of work relies on it.

I hope this helps to clear up things for you, but please feel free to contact us again with any further questions or concerns. All the best,

Katie
