Hello and thanks for reaching out to the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

Vaginal sex with condom is regarded as a Low Risk activity because there have been a few reports of HIV infection through this activity. It seems you do not know the HIV status of the other individual. We would encourage that you consider getting tested at some point. Aids Vancouver recommends that people use HIV testing as a regular health maintenance routine. This means getting an HIV test once or twice a year. This helps to give you peace of mind.

The Aids Vancouver Helpline Online forum has postings that are related to your question that you can read for additional information. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us again.

Thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.
