Hi I had an HIV DUO at 11 weeks and a PCR. What's the accuracy at this time?

Hi there,

Thank you for choosing the AIDS Vancouver Helpline as your source of information.

The World Health Organization guidelines consider testing to be all conclusive at 84 days (3 months). With that being said, the 4th Generation EIA test has an accuracy level of 99.9% at 6 weeks post possible exposure.

Given that you did the DUO test at 11 weeks post possible exposure, I would say that the results are very reliable and it is very unlikely that the test results will change if you were to get retested at 3 months post possible exposure.

If you have further inquiries, the following website would be resourceful: [http://smartsexresource.com/](http://smartsexresource.com/)

In health,
Moe, AIDS Vancouver Helpline Volunteer.
