Hi again Lisa,

According to an article from the CDC, there was one study that investigated the survival of HIV but it was at least 100 000 times more concentrated than found in the serum or blood of patient's with HIV infection (1). The study found that HIV was detected 1-3 days after drying using tissue-culture techniques but the rate of inactivation was rapid. Additional studies performed at the CDC have shown that drying HIV causes a rapid reduction in HIV within several hours (1).

If you have any other questions please refer to a healthcare professional for more detailed and personalized answers according to the situation you describe.
