Is there a hiv strain that progresses to aids in months after a possible infection I had a 3 month negative but I still feel all the symptoms, I feel like I need to keep testing and that I have hiv or maybe even aids already. What do you think? It's taking over my thoughts

Hello and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. We are happy to help answer your questions.

It sounds like the symptoms you are experiencing are worrying you a lot. We want to reassure you that the results of all HIV tests are considered conclusive at 3 months post-exposure (or later). Having an HIV test is the most reliable way to find out if you are living with HIV or not.

Symptoms can happen for many different reasons, so they cannot tell us if an individual is living with HIV or not. You mentioned hat you have received the results of an HIV test at 3 months post-exposure, and (if you've had no other exposures) this tells us that your symptoms are probably not related to HIV. We may suggest that you continue to partner with your local healthcare professionals to find out how to treat your symptoms.

For future reference, [this webpage](http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/ms/healthcareconnect/public/) may help you connect to a local healthcare professional in Canada

Thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.
Sincerely,

Marta
