Yesterday i engaged in body love making with a girl whose hiv status is not known to me and i sucked her breasts for 20 seconds and my bare penis touched her vagina but she was in her panties but i think panties can be wet as i earlier fingered her through panties .So my question is am i at hiv risk from breast sucking or genital rubbing?I also did kissing on her face, neck, abdomen etc.Does these activities put me at risk of HIV ?Do i need hiv testing or not?

Hello, and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. We are happy to help answer your questions.

In short, the activities you have described are considered no-risk for acquiring HIV. Here's why:

* non-insertive masturbation (e.g. kissing/sucking outside of body) is considered a no-risk activity

* any bodily fluids (e.g. pre-cum, semen, vaginal) would be exposed to the air and can't pass on HIV

* there is no way for these specific bodily fluids to access your bloodstream in this exposure

For a risk of HIV transmission to exist, 3/3 parts must be present in an exposure:

HIV TRANSMISSION EQUATION

BODY FLUID
+
ACTIVITY
+
DIRECT ACCESS TO BLOODSTREAM
---------- -------- ----------------------------
• blood (including menstrual) • unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse • vagina
• semen • sharing needles • anus
• pre-cum • mother to child (in specific cases) • urethra in the penis
• rectal secretions • open cuts and sores (in theory)
• vaginal fluids • other mucosal membranes
• breast milk • points of needle injection

We trust we have answered your questions and thank you for using the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

Sincerely,

Marta
