Thank you for contacting the helpline. Medication mentioned in your post does not affect the result of HIV testing. Few drugs interfere with HIV testing. The three known situations are: 1) being treated with chemotherapy for cancer while testing for HIV; 2) treatment for Hepatitis C and testing for HIV; and 3) testing for HIV after consuming PEP or PREP, which are HIV medicines. Official HIV testing guidelines recommend testing for HIV to be conclusive at 12 weeks. If you had RNA PCR test and the result is negative, we are confident that you are HIV negative, as the result is not compromised by you taking other medication at the same time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.

Sincerely,
Giselle
