hello

i had more times unprotected sex with unknow girl one year ago (oral, vaginal and anal)

I had one test after about one year, it was HIV1 RNA PCR Qualitative test: negative result

I will go for a normal Elisa DUO Test as soon as possible...

But in meanwhile, do you think i can be sure to be HIV1 negative based on test i had?

Great Thanks

Hello and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. I am happy to answer your question.

Your test result is considered conclusive. This is because the BC guidelines say that HIV tests can be considered conclusive after 3 months post-exposure, and your test was a year later! You do not require further testing unless you've had a more recent exposure.

I hope I have answered your question and provided you with comfort in your test results. If you have any more questions, feel free to post on this forum again or visit our website http://www.aidsvancouver.org for reliable information.

Sincerely,

Caroline
