Hi, I am a girl with no past sex experience and few months before me and my bf dry humped, because he told me that it is completely safe. I was naked and he was wearing an underwear. He came a little in his underwear while we dry humped. does that put me on any risk of being infected ?
2) if i had any cuts in my vaginal area , can a semen from his underwear come in contact of that cuts and transmit the virus ?

Hello and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline. We are happy to help answer your questions.

There is no risk of acquiring HIV associated with your exposure, and we hope this explanation may provide you with some relief.

For a risk of HIV transmission to exist, 3/3 parts must be present in an exposure:

HIV TRANSMISSION EQUATION

BODY FLUID
+
ACTIVITY
+
DIRECT ACCESS TO BLOODSTREAM
---------- -------- ----------------------------
• blood (including menstrual) • unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse • vagina
• semen • sharing needles • anus
• pre-cum • mother to child (in specific cases) • urethra in the penis
• rectal secretions • open cuts and sores (in theory)
• vaginal fluids • other mucosal membranes
• breast milk • points of needle injection
In your exposure

* all body fluids were exposed to the air (pre-cum, semen)
* there was no direct access to the bloodstream; only cuts that require professional medical treatment (e.g. stitches) right away provide direct access to the bloodstream
* there was no high-risk activity (e.g. unprotected sexual interourse, sharinhg needles) involved in your exposure

We may suggest checking our [Risk Chart](http://helpline.aidsvancouver.org/question/risk-assessment-chart) to find out what other activities pose no risk of acquiring HIV!

We trust we have answered your questions and thank you for contacting the AIDS Vancouver Helpline.

Sincerely,

Marta
